We stayed in room 416 on the 4th floor. Amazing views over the beach and the hotel grounds and the room was beautiful. The bed was large and comfortable and it has all the things you will need, hairdryer, kettle, coffee machine, bottle opener etc. The kitchenette is small and perfectly formed and seating and lighting is also very good. The TV needs resetting (I did the bedroom one!) so there is a few more English channels to watch if you want to. Mind you, with that view, who needs a tv?!
Housekeeping was excellent and we ended up having towel folding competitions! Every day, the room was as good as new, clean sheets, towels etc. Those women work so hard and deserve a massive tip when you leave. We even saw some climbing out the windows to clean them!
The pool area is clean, with enough sun beds for this time of year, I can imagine it's a lot busier in peak season though. Go the beach if this is the case, it's only across the road! Happy hour is 4-5pm, short and sweet, buy one get one free, and I think they could do with another member of staff as the poor girl was rushed off her feet during this hour.
Nikita, the receptionist was very friendly and always made time for a quick chat.
We would love to come back every year but it seems that almost the whole hotel is rented to a Scandinavian company and it is pot luck if you manage to snag a room. I do think this is a bit unfair, us Brits want to holiday here to you know! I hope this changes soon, can't we do 50/50?!!
We have stayed in many hotels in this area and this definitely has been the best so far. Hopefully see you next year! Hopefully!!
Ps Thank you for the bottle of bubbles for my partners birthday, it was a nice gesture.
We stayed in a two bedroom apartment with a magnificent view over the pool area and Puerto Rico Beach. Beds were really nice as well and I slept like a baby. Breakfast included good selection of bread, warm dishes, yogurt, fruit and vegetables, cereals and baked goods. And sparkling wine! We had dinner every night at Il Molino (the italian restaurant downstairs) and liked both the atmosphere and the foods. Hopefully well be able to stay in El Greco again sometime!
The employees are extremely nice and the service level was very good and the rooms and hotel is clean, we had housekeeping every day.
Also, the breakfast was good when taking into account that we are talking about a charter holiday hotel.
Finally, we all appreciated that there were plenty of lunge chairs at the pool area.
It was exellent food and service. You got a smile from everybody ..the recepsion, the cleeners, yes from everybody. Thanks for our stay here. We want to came back. ♡♡♡
When I first heard the name of the 'El Greco' apartments, I was a little worried because it sounded like something off Eldorado! However, we arrived at the apartment and I was extremely surprised/pleased.
The cleanliness is second to none - the maids visit you every single day, disinfect/scrub your bathroom, give you new clean sheets on your bed and amazingly do your washing up! I don't know whether that is in their job description but they certainly did it for us.
The El Greco grill (own restaurant) is brilliant. The majority of the food is cooked right in front of you and the waiters are so friendly.
My friend and I are mid 20's in age and we welcomed the fact that there were mostly adults staying at the apartment - the pool area is a place of peace and quiet whereby most people laze around and soak up the sun.
Lastly, the best thing about these apartments is the location. Puerto Rico is basically one large hill/mountain (whatever you want to call it) and most apartments there are built on the actual hill itself. This means that to get to the beach or the shops you have to walk a long long way! El Greco however was across the road from the beach. Apparently it is only 20 metres from the beach itself. Excellent stuff if you do have children, if you are mature in age or if you are young and you have come in at 4 o'clock in the morning trying to remember where you are staying!
All in all, I would highly recommend these apartments. I will definitely be going there again.
The suite overlooked a little garden with a fountain, it was noisy but it didnt really disturb us. The suites are fully airconditioned, but you have to ask for the remote control at reception. I dont think the apartements have aircon.
You are only a hop/skip from the beach, but the water was very stoney but a must for cooling down. There are 2 pools at the El Greco, i prefered the smaller one,it was like your own private pool. The bigger one is a bit noiser. The food in the snack bar was very good. We ate in the Grill twice and enjoyed it both times, staff very nice. We also ate in Pagoda Chinese Rest in the shopping area to the right, nice but not outstanding.. Rembrants was very nice. We didnt go to La Paloma or Oscars.. we heard differnent views from others and found Rembrants nice so stayed there. We liked that we were 10-15min walk from the main commercial centre. Very easy to walk there and back. The lucky lucky men are a bit annoying but you get that in most resorts. The people trying to get you into restaurants/pubs are polite if you just smile & say no thankyou...most of the time.
There is beautiful scenery from the marina, and we enjoyed the walk to amadores.. but if you are afraid of heights dont walk to near the wall! Long drop down.
I thought PR was a fantastic place, good food, good pubs, great beach great apartments. I will def go back
