We have tried to book this hotel for the last 5 years and finally, mainly due to under-occupancy caused by Covid, we got a room!
We stayed in room 416 on the 4th floor. Amazing views over the beach and the hotel grounds and the room was beautiful. The bed was large and comfortable and it has all the things you will need, hairdryer, kettle, coffee machine, bottle opener etc. The kitchenette is small and perfectly formed and seating and lighting is also very good. The TV needs resetting (I did the bedroom one!) so there is a few more English channels to watch if you want to. Mind you, with that view, who needs a tv?!
Housekeeping was excellent and we ended up having towel folding competitions! Every day, the room was as good as new, clean sheets, towels etc. Those women work so hard and deserve a massive tip when you leave. We even saw some climbing out the windows to clean them!
The pool area is clean, with enough sun beds for this time of year, I can imagine it's a lot busier in peak season though. Go the beach if this is the case, it's only across the road! Happy hour is 4-5pm, short and sweet, buy one get one free, and I think they could do with another member of staff as the poor girl was rushed off her feet during this hour.
Nikita, the receptionist was very friendly and always made time for a quick chat.
We would love to come back every year but it seems that almost the whole hotel is rented to a Scandinavian company and it is pot luck if you manage to snag a room. I do think this is a bit unfair, us Brits want to holiday here to you know! I hope this changes soon, can't we do 50/50?!!
We have stayed in many hotels in this area and this definitely has been the best so far. Hopefully see you next year! Hopefully!!
Ps Thank you for the bottle of bubbles for my partners birthday, it was a nice gesture.

I write this in the order of how our experience at this property went. Property has a private carpark which is big bonus in Puerto Rico when you arrive. The apartment was lovely and spacious, the kitchen area is well equipped and has a satellite TV in both the living area and the bedroom! The views over the pool hotel and bay are gorgeous! There are numerous restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The pool area is lovely and clean and the pool beautifully looked after on a daily basis. The properties position means it has easy access to the ferry boat system sited on the harbour wall which goes to neighbouring bays and to Porto Mogan market on a Friday, it is more expensive than the public bus system but i know which one i would rather travel on. The hotel is really well maintained in all areas and the rooms are visited on a daily basis for cleaning. The hotel owners/management really have thought of every requirement a guest might have and it was a pleasure to stay here. Thank you El Grecco for an amazing stay.

Absolutely the best hotel we have stayed in Canary Islands. The hotel area was modern and very tidy and the staff very friendly and helpful. I traveled with my 6 and 9 year old girls, and they really liked the heated pool where was pleasant to swim even in the cooler days.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment with a magnificent view over the pool area and Puerto Rico Beach. Beds were really nice as well and I slept like a baby. Breakfast included good selection of bread, warm dishes, yogurt, fruit and vegetables, cereals and baked goods. And sparkling wine! We had dinner every night at Il Molino (the italian restaurant downstairs) and liked both the atmosphere and the foods. Hopefully well be able to stay in El Greco again sometime!

The hotel itselfs is very good with everything you would expect in this class. However, one of its restaurants, I rather would describe as low quality kitchen. We were there both on Christmas & New years eve, and became very disappointed. The food, especially on the last evening, was hardly possible to eat, and among all 3 of us the opinion was the same. But when we did remark this, our waitor said 'I will tell the kitchen' whereupon nothing happened, despite we asked twice. The same result in the hotel reception when told them. 'I will tell my boss', the receptionist cordially said. And again, nothing more happened. In addition, during our 2 weeks stay, a one man orchestra "played" close to the reception area, immensely load which spread also into our room so we had to keep the balcon door closed. I don't mind music and not even when it's load, but this music sang or rather screamed constantly out of tune and was very sluggish in his performance. I'm very surprised that El Greco, a hotel which has such a good reputation and also disearves this, destroys for itself with a 3rd class restaurant and amateur musicians.

Stay in the El Greco every year it is one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The apartments are spotless and the beds are so comfortable. The pool is amazing. The only problem is leaving. Can't wait to go back again next year.

A great hotel, and super location right next to the beach.

The employees are extremely nice and the service level was very good and the rooms and hotel is clean, we had housekeeping every day.

Also, the breakfast was good when taking into account that we are talking about a charter holiday hotel.

Finally, we all appreciated that there were plenty of lunge chairs at the pool area.

My friend and I booked our holiday 72 hours before we flew to Gran Canaria. We paid approx £160 for an allocation on arrival holiday - we didn't even know what area of Gran Canaria we would be placed at.

When I first heard the name of the 'El Greco' apartments, I was a little worried because it sounded like something off Eldorado! However, we arrived at the apartment and I was extremely surprised/pleased.

The cleanliness is second to none - the maids visit you every single day, disinfect/scrub your bathroom, give you new clean sheets on your bed and amazingly do your washing up! I don't know whether that is in their job description but they certainly did it for us.

The El Greco grill (own restaurant) is brilliant. The majority of the food is cooked right in front of you and the waiters are so friendly.

My friend and I are mid 20's in age and we welcomed the fact that there were mostly adults staying at the apartment - the pool area is a place of peace and quiet whereby most people laze around and soak up the sun.

Lastly, the best thing about these apartments is the location. Puerto Rico is basically one large hill/mountain (whatever you want to call it) and most apartments there are built on the actual hill itself. This means that to get to the beach or the shops you have to walk a long long way! El Greco however was across the road from the beach. Apparently it is only 20 metres from the beach itself. Excellent stuff if you do have children, if you are mature in age or if you are young and you have come in at 4 o'clock in the morning trying to remember where you are staying!

All in all, I would highly recommend these apartments. I will definitely be going there again.

i stayed at the el greco apartments for a week over christmas with my partner and 6 year old daughter, the apartments were very clean well equipt and in a great location. the beach was 20 seconds away there were lots of bars and shops nearby and plenty of things for us to do. the staff spoke very good english and were very helpful, there were 2 pools in the hotel one which was heated. there were 2 pool tables to keep the children entertained and the pool snack bar served excellent food at very low prices. i was very pleased with my stay at the el greco and am looking forward to going back this year.

We are just back from a week in Puerto Rico and i thought it was excellent. We booked the Suite, only by chance as it must have been a cancellation and it was fantastic. Our tranfer time was about 45 min and we didnt have any other stop off as we were on the bus with the guests from Marina Suites and we were first. On arrival they do ask for the €150 deposit, but we knew that anyway so we were prepared. They took our passports and kept them overnight. We asked ourselves for the safety deposit box we had to pay €14 euro and then €12 euro deposit so €26 in total. we got back the deposit on departure.. The suites are very big and well equipped. We had two rooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. Loads of wardrobe space, two showers and an nice kitchenette with living room space. It was spotlessly clean. We had a welcome bottle of water in the fridge when we arrived. The suite was no 3 and other guests we spoke to said that suite no 1 is noisy from the kitchen, which i can imagine as they get the kitchen and dining area ready early even though the restaurant isnt open till 7pm.
The suite overlooked a little garden with a fountain, it was noisy but it didnt really disturb us. The suites are fully airconditioned, but you have to ask for the remote control at reception. I dont think the apartements have aircon.

You are only a hop/skip from the beach, but the water was very stoney but a must for cooling down. There are 2 pools at the El Greco, i prefered the smaller one,it was like your own private pool. The bigger one is a bit noiser. The food in the snack bar was very good. We ate in the Grill twice and enjoyed it both times, staff very nice. We also ate in Pagoda Chinese Rest in the shopping area to the right, nice but not outstanding.. Rembrants was very nice. We didnt go to La Paloma or Oscars.. we heard differnent views from others and found Rembrants nice so stayed there. We liked that we were 10-15min walk from the main commercial centre. Very easy to walk there and back. The lucky lucky men are a bit annoying but you get that in most resorts. The people trying to get you into restaurants/pubs are polite if you just smile & say no thankyou...most of the time.

There is beautiful scenery from the marina, and we enjoyed the walk to amadores.. but if you are afraid of heights dont walk to near the wall! Long drop down.

I thought PR was a fantastic place, good food, good pubs, great beach great apartments. I will def go back

Hi, All the apartments are sea facing and good. Apartment balconies are not directly next to each other as each bedroom sits on the left of the balcony and sits between each neighbouring balcony.
