Hotels Amazing Danny on reception was very helpful and knowledgeable Food good, drinks are good, free flowing but not so strong. All hotel facilities were spot on, pools great if a little chilly Rooms are first class clean tidy and well presented 5 star hotel
I wasn't originally booked for Gran Canaria however 3 weeks before I was due to fly my original holiday was cancelled so chose to go here, wow so glad I did, had a fantastic week, couldn't have dreamed of staying at a better hotel. Check in was very quick, and I was soon given my room - wow, I had 574, the views were stunning- beautiful Amadores Beach and amazing sunsets, couldn't have wished for a better view, and my room was lovely, huge ceiling fan, huge shower and kept very very very clean . Everyday I was totally spoilt for choice in the restaurant, Brilliant choice of food. All Inclusive beer is Amstel which you serve yourself- Heaven. The staff are all fantastic, I must just say though the pool bar staff were fantastic, this bar closes at 6pm, but during my stay the hotel was very busy so everyday they kept this bar open a little longer - thought that was fantastic service. The views from this hotel are just stunning, either from the restaurant of Amadores Beach, the sunsets at the sunset bar, and even the sports bar. The hotel is on a cliff and does look a long way to the beach, but once you leave the hotel security gate actually only takes about 20/25 minutes leisurely walk all downhill, I definately wouldn't walk back as its pretty steep but the hotel puts on free coaches 5 time a day each way to and from Amadores Beach - definately worth a visit, I was there everyday, so clean, loads of little bars and the sea is so turquoise, it's a dream to swim in. If you follow the path left of Amadores Beach, and follow the coast you end up at Playa des Ingles Beach, where you can get many boat trips from. The hotel provides towels for the pool/beach each day, and 2 bottles of water is left in your room everyday. There was a lot of animation at the hotel if you want to join in, zhumba, step, darts, aqua gym but being at the beach every day missed these. I had a fantastic time, Riu Vistamar is a Brilliant hotel, I loved everything, the amazing food, fantastic views and brilliant friendly staff, had such a fab time just booked again for January 22, cannot wait. Huge Thankyou to everyone who works at the hotel for a truly memorable holiday. …
Made very welcoming by reception staff, fitted with alinclusive bands then told to go and enjoy the food and drink. Cafes then taken to room with house keeping. Staff all over completed very friendly and helpful, definately value for money food very good.
Second time coming back to this hotel this time with our baby. we absolutely love it. Beautiful views and spacious rooms. Never a fight for sunbeds and spacious eating areas. HOWEVER This time I did get sick 2 times 2nd day into the holiday and the day we flew home, I can only think it was from the food as I surely couldn’t catch a bug twice within 2 weeks?? The reception staff wasn’t willing to accept it was from their food but reading other reviews it doesn’t seem that I am the only one… other than this it is an amazing hotel. Just a shame about the illness
Again great service great entertainment team. Food choice and standard were excellent. The kids club staff were first class as was the entertainment team. They work so hard but always with a big smile. The shows were excellent particularly Michael Jackson. Hope to be back soon!
How anyone can not be happy here. Food excellent plenty of choice. Drinks all good quality. Different restaurants. No problem booking these. All areas very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Bedrooms cleaned daily to a high standard. All in all 10 out of 10.;would not hesitate returning in the future..
Firstly, I’d like to echo what others have said about the cleanliness of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. I particularly liked the system of leaving a card on your bed when you want a change of linen. My mobility is not great, but I had no problems. As well as the main lifts there is also a smaller lift just before them which go directly up to the pool and Sea Breeze restaurant, and down to the well stocked Kiosco. A taxi down to Puerto Rico was €6. December is high season in the Canaries, so expect everywhere to be busy. As well as the excellent Kai restaurant, you can also book in for the barbecue evening or Canarian restaurant on specific nights. Some people have said the meals were repetitive, but I’d suggest resisting the temptation to have ‘ a wee bit of everything’ means this won’t be a problem. On Christmas Eve, Santa and his helpers arrived on motorbikes, with gifts for all the children, and on Christmas Day an excellent Gala Dinner was served. I didn’t see any of the entertainment, so can’t comment on that. I did notice Tui reps in the hotel , which I haven’t seen before, so maybe Tui have just added Riu to their holidays. Al in all, this was another excellent stay, and fantastic value for money. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.…
I took contact to this hotel reception to ask the room as high as possible. Katie i answered that it was impossible, We have booked a wrong room by TUI. So I changed the room. We were very happy to get 5 th floor room with the view of the Amadores Beach. Many thanks Katie ! This hotel is huge and lot of functions are on the self-service basis. . We had all our meals on the nice terrace. There was always space. The room was clean and everyone was very friendly. It was nice to walk to Amadores Beach and Puerto Rico. Everything was fine until I got twice very bad stomach symptoms. I stopped eating cold salads and desserts and that helped. There was some kind of epidemia at that time. That spoiled 4 days of two weeks holiday.
The service Washington excellent everywhere, and so was the food and cleaning. Our son loved that there was a basket court. We likedan that there was serving food somewhere almost all the time. Over all ve where very happy
Excellent hotel but not if you have mobility issues, there are lots of steps. The hotel is upside down rooms on the lower levels and reception, restaurants and pools on the upper floors, to make the most of the fabulous views. Didnt seem a lot going on for children, not even a children's food section. Spotlessly clean and the bar staff were very efficient. Reception very helpful and TUI reps visible every day.
