Ok hotel, you get what you pay for. Overall a 3 star hotell with average standard breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you don’t come early for breakfast and dinner food won’t be filled up or refreshed. The hotel has a middleage of 75+ so if you’re at this age its perfect. If you’re younger maybe this is not the hotel for you. The entertainment at night is very poor so you do best in planning a night out in town if you don’t want to be totally bored. A nice 15 min walk to the beach or to shopping mall Europe if you’re mobile. The gym is very poor and doesn’t not fill any function if you normally train.

We only stayed at this place because of the great reviews it had on trip advisor! (All inclusive) We arrived at 10.35pm and were told that there was some food outside the restaurant (more a canteen) for us. A stale ham sandwich and a plum?? I feared the worse. We chose this time of year because we thought it would be a little quieter than the school holidays, and the first two days it was! Until the lifts broke at the sister hotel and they moved them here!! It was hectic. The room was clean and basic (shower door would not stay closed and was very grubby) TV did not work although was repaired the next day( only bbc and sky news in English) wifi did not work ( but was repaired the next day) walls in all rooms were extensively marked and dirty other than that the place was clean and the cleaners did a good job! All inclusive?????? Had to pay €10 for safe? Had to pay €3 for every change of pool towels? Pool was ok but a little small and was always covered by an attendant who was very good. Furniture in the canteen was very mis matched and tacky ( like something you would get on a car boot sale) tables and chairs had stoppers missing of legs so were rocky not safe for hot drinks!! Staff in canteen were good and tried their best. Food was canteen style and of a poor standard, they ran out of things very quickly. After day one we chose not to eat there and ate out at great expense! Salad was basic and poor standard. There were lots of flies in the canteen and watching them constantly land on food really put you of trying it ( they had no equipment to control the flies?) None of the fruit juice was fresh all watered. You helped yourself to the beer in small plastic cups ( so it was always busy) the spirits were local and mostly unpalatable. The entertainment was actually quite good but it was outside the canteen and there was never enough room to accommodate the show and the people watching. It was €30 to keep your room after 12 on your last day. We did not have a rep on site but emailed the TUI rep everyday with issues. Jet2 had a rep on site. TUI offered €200 vouchers as compensation - still to receive these. This equates to €50 each, about 7%. Would I recommend this place, a blind man in a galloping horse would not stop there.

This is our fourth time at the altamadores. We stayed in room 302 (which is like a home from home for us) it's just by the splash pool. We are a family of five. Myself my husband and our three children age 13, 8, 2. The splash park is great all our children love it i would recommend water shoes for the little ones as it can get slippy. The children's pool is perfect size and my older two love the big pool. Your not allowed inflatables in the big pool but that isn't a hotel policy it's a Spanish ruling. You can have little ones in childs pool. Plenty of sun loungers and unbrellas to go around my children were first in and last out of the pool. We had amazing weather most days 35 degrees. There was entertainment for all the family in the evening and also bingo which my 8 year old loved to get involved in on a Friday they do link up bingo with the sister hotels so is a bigger prize. The magic show is a must for all the family it was brilliant also karaoke and music till 11 every night and if that isn't lively enough for you europa is only a short taxi ride up the hill around €3 and plenty to do up there with bars restaurants and play area for the children. There wasn't a kids club or kids disco that would be good before the bingo 🤔. The food was as good as ever plenty of salad choice. We stayed for seven days and we were happy with it we love the bbq night and chinese night all the restaurants staff and bar staff cant do enough for you. Pleanty of choice at breakfast too you won't go hungry. Ice cream for you to help yourself to and also toasties and snacks in afternoon. There are slushy for the kids, local spirits, soft drinks, tea coffee etc, water, beer and red white and rose on tap. The rooms were cleaned every day and always plenty of fresh towels and bedding the cleaners do a amazing job. There is also a little supermarket downstairs where you can pick up snacks for the kids. The hotel supply towels for the pool and if you want them changed is €3 at reception. Also we had shower gel in the shower and hand soap. ALTAMADORES WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR SEE YOU THEN

Our 8th visit to Altamadores! Again cannot fault the staff. Nilo, Frederico, Evelyn, Alona, Alba and Eric were there usually happy welcoming selves. Jamie was on top form as usual and always provides great entertainment. Another positive about this place, is you come back home with more friends you arrived with. We left just as the storm came to the island. Had we been there longer I have to say it would have been a bit boring stuck in our room. Would probably recommend to the owner getting more of a permanent, waterproof roof for the outside dining area as we were sat watching the queens funeral, trying to shelter using towels ( this only lasted approx 10mins though). One point that does still tend to let it down a bit is the food. Sometimes the food just didn’t seem to match, e.g. Mash potato with pasta. Also some food was barely lukewarm. This is the only fault we find with the place. Reading some of the other reviews, there are complaints about the location of the hotel. Yes it’s on the top of a cliff but this is clearly stated in the description and pictures you see wherever you book your holiday so if this is a problem then just don’t book. See you guys next year!!

Where do I start, as soon as we arrived we knew what we were getting ourselves into. Firstly we noticed how run down the hotel was, needs serious refurbishment. If you’re looking for a luxury holiday, this is NOT IT. The room itself was ok, basic, clean and met our needs. However there was nothing about this hotel that gave us the hotel feel. Buffet was awful, breakfast was passable, lunch was awful, and we only had one evening that was okay. All puddings were brought, everything seemed to be just cooked from frozen packages. Nothing fresh, all the fruit was basic and like I said nothing luxury. The food was so greasy and beige. I must say many of the other guests seemed satisfied with the food, but if you’re looking for more than very basic beige food then you won’t enjoy this. The staff didn’t take pride in the place they were working, we weren’t even asked if we had a nice holiday as we checked out. Didn’t feel anything like a holiday and I guess you get what you pay for, but I imagine during the summer months this place is expensive to stay, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. There are much nicer places you can stay for same money. The whole place was just like Benidorm. Next is location, awful location right at the top of a huge cliff, be prepared to pay for a taxi. The town itself is run down and dirty. And one last thing, Gran Canaria isn’t the nicest of places to go on holiday, you get the heat but that’s about it.

I would just like to say when we arrived the weather was hot hotel very nice clean and staff friendly the food was same old stuff as you expect in all inclusive but was able to eat at every meal time . The drinks were of very poor standard especially the vodka I've never heard so many people complain about a drink as they did the vodka but management did not attempt to address the problem . Then came the rain yes I know the weather is beyond anyone's control but the only place to sit and drink and socialize is at the pool bar which does have a covering but only from the sun so the rain just comes straight through it like it's not even there . Also same time the wifi goes down leaving you in the room not being able to watch your tablets if you are lucky enough to have one as the tv sets that are advertised as a room feature do not have any english channels on them not bad considering 85% of guests are from the uk but had it not been for the rain for 2 days and may be another one tomorrow it would of been a nice holiday .

Cant fault the actual hotel staff , or the cleanliness but there has been some clever photography when advertising as this hotel is on a steep hill. Taxis available to bring you back up if nedded..we did. Food wasnt up to much but we managed to find something most meal times.we have been stuck indoors as a weather warning came yesterday and its not stopped since!! Not hotels fault but no tv and internet has gone down!! Beware of local alcohol here as the vodka has a distinctive aroma of cleaning fluid, strangely only on an evening..we bought our own, cant drimk after 11pm the bar closes very promptly. Hotel rooms are clean and spacious, staff are truely the stars of this hotel.

Returned to this hotel for the 6th time and introduced family to it this time. We rarely criticise and overall the hotel was as expected. Friendly familiar staff, clean rooms and grounds. Entertainment by Jamie. The only disappointment this time was the food. There was alot of fish dishes and not much variety. Also a lot of food was cold and we even had chicken that was pink on one occasion. The hotel has obviously tried to jazz up the restaurant with introduction of kebabs and pancakes etc but we were not impressed. By the end of the holiday we were bored with the same old choices.

Well here I go again.its brill to be back after 3 years .there have been some changes balconies extended by 1.5 meter there is no adults only bit now the wall at lift has been knocked down and glass put up so you get a view now .it is the same brill staff nilo, Frederico, Anna,Evelyn and Eric is back .Jamie g at his best again bingo brill £££££. A few down points there is only one toilet to use at poolside which needs to be looked at also needs a disabled toilet .smoking is not allowed around restaurant area thumbs up from me as I don't smoke but for returning guests a pain in the ass as they have to go around the side of building. So why moan just do what is asked .the food needs a wee bit more variety so I hear people say but I am easy a wee chip butty will do me .entertainment is now out side just watched the brill Chris on his guitar 🎸 again .It will not matter how many times you see him still rocks the joint .Well I have booked already for next year but after that will have to take serious look as getting to £££££ .Well folks it's time for bed for another sunny 80 to 90 degrees day .enjoy but I would definitely say if you wish a wee quiet place where no sh___t is taken everyone is here to enjoy holiday this is the place for you .until next time cheers altamadores staff 9 out of 10 from us 👍 Ali .y

We had a family holiday at Altamadores Hotel. First holiday with our 18 month grandchild. The facilities were wonderful on full board.lean and tidy modern hotel. Good selection of fruit, salads, sweets, main meals as well as soft drinks and local alcohols. Child friendly small pool as well as a great larger pool, with life guard always present. Designated children's play area but would do with some interaction toys. All the staff were wonderful and helpful. Organised entertainment throughout the day and evening. We were grateful that the hotel upgraded us to a junior suite at no extra cost so that we could be closer to my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter's suite. Wonderful views out to the ocean and local beach looking down the hill. 5 mins taxi ride down to the beach or a 15-20 mins walk, though we did not do this. Selection of bars, restaurants shopping areas are approximately 15-20 mins taxi ride away in Puerto Rico, Mogan Mall may be worth visiting, if you like mordern shopping facilities. Would recommend this Hotel.
