Couldn't fault Richard's hospitality throughout our stay here. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits were ideal, also with a lovely selection of films, books, games and honesty bar serving alcoholic drinks. Room 2, with a double four poster bed made for the best nights sleep, with a lovely view of Grizedale forest from both windows. The bathroom with bath and shower...

What a wonderful stay at Grizedale Lodge! We stayed in room 7, the downstairs room, which is a great size with a sofa, comfy bed and a lovely bathroom. We enjoyed tea and brownies on arrival and sat in the extremely comfortable lounge by the woodburner . Richard gave us advice on some walks, so on our first day we...

Having read such great reviews on Trip Advisor we were all expecting a special stay - and we weren't disappointed! We stayed two days and enjoyed fabulous breakfasts and one evening meal. We stayed here for 3 nights and had the most lovely stay. The owners couldn't do enough for you. As a private place the service was really personal and they were interested in everyone who stay. Breakfasts are totally delicious with fresh bread and jams, fruit salad and porridge (with whiskey if you choose) plus an array of cooked options....

I am a sculpture and was interested in hiking the sculpture trail at Grizedale Park. So Grizedale Lodge was a wonderful find. It fit perfectly into our schedule since the park and sculpture trails was only a 15 minute walk away. Richard greeted at the door and showed us around. The rooms were very inviting and the living room had...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. There are some lovely sculptures in the forest and well worth searching them out, as you can walk straight from the front door into the forest. The roads can seem narrow when you are not used to them so I always advise everyone to drive especially carefully as you may...

If I were designing my ideal place to stay it would be here. The decor is very tasteful with top quality Morris wallpaper, individual rooms all in a stunning location. Do pre book evening meals, richard and caroline are very welcoming hosts and the food is really really good and the wines reasonably priced.

Thank you for the review and for liking the way Debs (my wife) has decorated the room, not sure where Caroline came from - but don't tell my wife!! Debs is also a great cook and it is often relaxing to come back after a day of adventure and just stay in and enjoy her cooking. All the best Richard
