Stayed for a couple of nights and had a very positive response from the staff . Ground floor room in the Coach house was very good , warm and wonderful comfy bed . However disturbed late at night and early morning by snoring and continuous clattering from people upstairs, virtually no insulation. Food was good ' pub grub ' but... More

The hotel was booked by a friend as a group were traveling down to meet up together and was booked on location and reviews - no one really knew what to expect A large car park with disabled parking near to the main entrance. What I assume to be the Manager greeted us and provided direction to our rooms The... More

We stayed at this hotel about 4 weeks ago. We were allocated a top floor room at the front , it was very antiquated with large cartoons hung on the wall completely out of keeping with the rest of the hotel The bathroom was in dire need of money being spent. the flooring and tiles had certainly seen better days... We booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding locally at Buxted Park. It was very local and only 10 mins in a taxi. I can not praise the staff at The Chequers enough, they were so friendly and always went out of their way to talk to us. They really did make us feel very welcome and it... More

Recently been for a friends wedding, the party was excellent and the staff brilliant. We were invited to the main wedding breakfast the table was simply decorated but beautifully presented. I had the salmon to start, lamb shank for main and chocolate torte for dessert. The food was excellent I could not fault it, I'm looking forward to returning for... More

We chose this hotel as it was near out intended location and was reasonably priced. The inclusion of a full breakfast was an added bonus. The staff were hard working and accommodating to our requests to change check-in time. The free parking was satisfactory and the location seemed quiet. We stayed in Room 1 which was a little 'bijou' but... More

This was a great room for the price we paid. The decor was nice, and although the bed was quite squeaky it was comfortable. Sadly we didn't make it to breakfast but heard good things about this from friends were were staying with.

I stayed here at a friends request even though I was going to the Premier Inn Lewes. Firstly it's not disabled as stated and I couldn't get in the shower or use the toilet because it was too low. There were no bars up or non slip flooring. The room itself was too small and we had to move the... More

Stayed here for two nights, a very old building with very squeaky floors, we stayed in rooms 5 and 6 that were over the kitchen with an extractor fan running for 5 minutes every half an hour through out the day and night. Although the radiators were not on in the rooms, the rooms very very hot, like being in... More
