Stayed one night at this pub - fantastic value at £145 including dinner, bed and breakfast. Room had everything you need - someone had obviously been to other hotels and seen what's missing - mirror with dressing table and chair and plug convenient for hair drier. Lots of different teas and coffees with kettle and good sized mugs. Good quality...

We ate Sunday lunch here recently and decided to sit outside even though the sun was sinking. There were roasts still available even though it was late afternoon.Service was quick and the roast beef was really good. The portions may not suit big eaters but it was fine for us.We followed the roast with a warm chocolate brownie and ice cream which...

A lovely overnight stay. Really quirky and very lopsided room but set out beautifully. Lovely decor and really friendly staff. Booked for 1 night dinner bed and breakfast. Fantastic weather allowed us to enjoy the lovely garden and river location. Evening meal was so delicious and there were no menu exceptions. We had the antipasti platter to share, belly of...

Had lunch here today with my elderly mother. Food lovely. Staff helpful and service quick. Spectacular weather allowed us to sit on the terrace where there was table service. Very pretty setting. Parking difficult if you arrive on a Saturday after 12! There is a car park for about 20 cars. One disabled space. Parking is possible along the narrow...

Last Saturday, we attended a wedding in Reading and wanted to stay overnight somewhere nearby, as our daughter and her boyfriend were joining us for lunch on Sunday. The Stag on the River was just perfect! We arrived about 9 pm - no problem ! We were shown up to a lovely comfortable, quiet room overlooking the rear of the inn....

A very pleasant short break with friends. Booked two rooms B&B with evening meal both nights. Very clean and tidy rooms a little on the small side but nice nonetheless. Good choice of beers in the bar .. a log fire .. great food and very pleasant staff. Great for a short break !!

On a family visit due to the birth of a grandson we had to find a bed for 2 nights. The Stag is clean entertaining with friendly staff and a perfect short stay venue. Rooms are compact and well tended but if I'm honest would have preferred a larger bed. There is I think in room 3 more space but...

We visited on a Tuesday lunchtime. We were travelling westwards along the A3 and found this pub just by chance when we saw a roadside board. A historic pub with lots of character situated on the the banks of the River Wey. It was cosy inside with open fires in the various rooms. Excellent, friendly service and the food was...

Just booked lunch here on recommendation from a friend and explained we had a dog. When we turned up, we were shown to a tiny table literally in the corridor under the reception desk, nowhere near the bar or the dining area. The waitress seemed surprised that we didn't want to sit in the corridor and explained that was all...

Dear Timvirdee, Please do accept my apologies if there had been any miscommunication regarding your table reservation on Saturday. I am not sure if when your booking was taken it was explained the only table we had available was in our snug area and I would sincerely like to apologise if that wasn't case. I believe I spoke with you...
