Did not actually know this was the pub used in Last of the Summer Wine until after I arrived. The landlady informed me that they had recently taken over in July and for me, the establishment is needing some TLC. Room was ok, bed and bedding good, but nowhere to hang clothes and there was a leaking sink in the...

My partner and I spent one night here so we could attend a musical event at nearby Holmfirth and in all honesty from arriving to leaving, was an experience to say the least. We were greeted by a not so welcoming bar lady watching darts on TV and a empty pub with zero atmosphere; not to mention the overwhelming stench...

A beautiful little place with the most gorgeous home cooked food. The landlady and staff were very nice and more than happy to speak about its past in the Last of the Summer Wine. Definitely recommend!

This was our 2nd meal at the white horse and has shown the continuous warm welcome with smiles and excellent service. Myself my partner and our 4 year old had a meal each. Beautiful homemade food with equal service! Absolutely family friendly and would highly recommend! We'll definitely be visiting again!

Having a great time in West Yorkshire. We came for the Yorkshire Sculpture Triangle and have enjoyed everything we have seen. One night we found the White Horse and stayed for supper. The Landlady gave us a very warm welcome and was very helpful. The food was of a good standard and was served with a smile. We stayed for...

As a massive fan of Last of the Summer wine, I made the trip to Holmfirth. Having visited Nora Batty's house,Sid's cafe , Compo's grave etc, I had to go to the famous White Horse pub at Jackson bridge , where many scenes were shot.. To my surprise , on a bank holiday weekend the pub was totally empty. Paid...

Used to go very regularly food was excellent, didn't go for a while due to serious illness, when we went back it was as if they'd never seen us, a smile would not go amiss.i don't put up with rude people and walk away!! Their loss plenty more places to eat.

Arrived after a long motorcycle trip, longing for beer and food. The room was Ok, not 'boutique' but clean and comfortable and not bad for £75. Don't understand comment about not being friendly and just for locals- we had a good chat with staff and the local people enjoying the bar were friendly, said hello, and added to the atmosphere....

The meal was good value for money only thing that spoilt our visit was we wasn't made to feel welcome, definitely won't be returning, shame it's a lovely pub in a beautiful part of Homefirth, think it's more a pub for local people and not people that are outside visitors

I wanted somewhere convenient to stay while attending a concert in nearby Hepworth. The White Horse fitted the bill perfectly. The room (no. 5), conveniently reached by a separate entrance, was furnished with a comfy cast iron double bed and a single day(?) bed which added a quirky touch. I wasn't able to sample the delights of the bar that...
