Called in a couple of times over the new year weekend, the pub was always busy which is a good sign. We ate once - sweet potato curry and fish & chips both were delicious. The beer was good too, all staff were very friendly.

Decent place to be fair, room was small but clean and tidy, for £60 you cant complain, the breakfast was no more than ok, car park on site which made life easier, for an overnight stay its ideal. If you dont fancy eating in the pub there are plenty of other places you can try.

What is so hard about cooking one of our favourite National dishes "Fish and Chips" to an edible standard. Both meals arrived with fish looking as though it had been dragged on Hollow Gate, the batter being dark brown and burnt, with grey fish inside smelling. I would have put money on it being Coley, not the Cod we ordered,...

Stayed here for just the one night, when watching a band at the Hippodrome. Room small, but adequate. Very comfy bed, decent shower, tea and coffee. Very nice breakfast , served by very friendly staff. No complaints.

We stayed here when we were at a gig! It was the weekend of the 'food and drink festival' the atmosphere of the pub and the town was fab! The landlady was just lovely and made us feel very welcome! The room was nice and clean with tea and coffee making facilities and the bed was very comfortable. We would...

We were in Town for an event at the picture dome - room was basic and somewhat dated but bearing in mind the room rate was value for money. With the rooms being over the bar there was a bit of noise until closing Breakfast was excellent and highly recommended.

Didn't stay here but chose to eat here for the two nights we stayed. Very pleasant pub, landlady and the chap from the kitchen were great. Locals were entertaining and friendly. The food was great value for money and superb. Steak night on Friday was amazing. Well worth a visit.
