We were on a cycling tour of Northern Ireland with two friends and booked Laurel Villa at short notice. We were pleased and so will you be. The rooms are large and nicely furnished with really comfortable beds. Breakfast was fantastic and included about the best and lightest scones I've ever eaten. More than the usual stuff though is the...

We recently spent an excellent few days here. The friendliness of the hosts, the wonderful breakfasts and the comfortable rooms are the key points to any enjoyable stay and Laurel Villa passes with flying colours! Keep up the good work and we look forward to returning sometime soon.

My family actually visited July of 2014. We absolutely fell in love with Laurel Villa and cannot wait to take our extended family back to visit again! We were blessed with incredible hosts, Gerardine and Eugene. I will never forget our delicious breakfasts. We got to live the dream at Laurel Villa!

A group of parents/friends travelled today to Laurel villa in Magherafelt from Belfast. We received a very warm welcome. We had a variety of lovely home made scones by Geraldine and tea out of fine bone china cups. Eugene then took us on the Seamus Heaney tour which was just brilliant, emotional and uplifting. He read poems and prose and...

Laurel Villa is an historic Victorian building which belies a modern, comfortable and warm interior. The warmest part of our stay however was the welcome given by the owners Eugene and Gerardine Kielt, who effortlessly extend their Irish hospitality. We stayed for one evening in the spacious Heaney room. Laurel Villa pays homage to Irish Poets, including Michael Langley from...

We have recently returned from a short trip to Northern Ireland where we stayed at Laurel Villa Guest House in Magherafelt. Eugene and Gerardine are perfect hosts - charming and helpful yet unobtrusive. Their home is an oasis of calm and is fascinating for the Seamus Heaney fan - full of books, paintings and reproductions of poems framed on the...

This is an outstanding place to stay if you are interested in Seamus Heaney or just wish to have a great stay when travelling in Ireland, perhaps to or from Belfast's airports. Gerardine's breakfasts are wonderful, incorporating two types of homemade scone. The hospitality offered by both her and Eugene is heartwarming and even extended to a glass of wine...

I try to stay in Laurel Villa when I can. On this occasion I bought an overnight stay for a friend for Christmas so this was a good excuse to return. On this occasion I was given the Heaney room and my friend had the Longley room. The rooms are comfortable and have great atmosphere as they have prints and...
