Perfect location, with parking right outside, lovely views of the harbour, and just a 2 minute walk from a great selection of restaurants. Heather and her staff are so friendly and welcoming, and the decor in the room and quality of the furnishings are very tasteful. I loved the oversize tartan lampshade in my room! Breakfast was delicious, with an...

Arrived with my family quite late after driving whole day by car and found the welcoming decanter of scotch relaxing and comfortable bed and bathroom most helpful to restore our strength for the next day to be spent in the Isle of Skye that can be easy reached by morning's ferry being just few minutes of distance from the guest...

I came by train to Mallaig to play golf at Traigh and visit Skye by ferry. The Moorings is the perfect location for both: the station and the ferry terminal are within 5 minutes walk and the bus stop for the service to Traigh Golf Club is a few steps from the property. I received a warm welcome from Heather...

A comfortable bed, spacious room, lovely en suite bathroom, great breakfast and some thoughtful little touches make the Moorings the perfect place to stay. It's situated centrally in Mallaig, a pretty little fishing village and holiday base for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. Mallaig is also the last station on the stunningly beautiful West Highland railway line. There are a number...

Thoroughly enjoyed our first 3 night stay at The Moorings. Our party this time was my wife and me, along with my nearly 80 year old mother and 93 year old great aunt. So, as readers will guess we had a number of requirements. Heather and Donald went out of their way to accommodate the various needs with great pre-booking...

Lovely one night stay at the Moorings after the great train trip from Glasgow! The Moorings is ideally located two minutes away from the train station, with a great view on the harbour. There is a very pleasant communal lounge at the front of the house where you can enjoy the view from a comfy armchair. The breakfast was very...

The long trip from Birmingham via flight to Glasgow then a train to Mallaig was a bit too much for me. But awaiting us at the end of this long day was a comforting night's sleep and filling breakfast before we continued our journey. We were well taken care of. Thank you to Heather. Yes, we used our own toiletries,...

While we only stayed in Mallaig for a single night, The Moorings Guesthouse was a favourite of both mine and my fiance's during our recent trip to Scotland. We were charmed by the depiction of the room online so we chose the Moorings as our stop point on our way up to Skye. We had a warm greeting from Heather...
