We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Veranda View where we spent an afternoon relaxing on the veranda simply enjoying the view and watching the birds. Excellent hospitality from the friendly hostess who provided us with some very good meals.

Liat standed us in Guadeloupe so we were unable to fulfill our booking. We made a point though to visit Veranda View and and chat with the Dutch lady who runs the place. That visit made our frustration with Liat all the more painful as it is lovely and we would have really liked to stay there. Wonderful spot and...

Calibishie is a clean and quiet village. Veranda view is at the edge of town, right at the seafront. We were very pleased with the hospitality of Hermien, the owner. She does everything possible to make you feel welcome. Room was comfortable and clean. Two rooms have a kitchenette. Breakfast cooked by Coco was delicious. Dinner was cooked on request...

The view from the veranda is utterly enchanting - I cannot think of anywhere better for breakfast or for a lazy afternoon with a book. The house is literally beside the ocean. The guest house is easy to find on the main road of the charming village of Calibishie - very convenient for airport and for exploring northern Dominica. The...

Personal, comfortable place to stay right on beach with stunning views. You can enjoy breakfast at the veranda and watch different water birds catching fishes. Breakfast was good, though as a serious coffee lover I have to "complain" about instant coffee. Anyways, an excellent place to stay!

My friend & I rented a cottage outside of the village. It was recommended by the landlord to visit Veranda View for breakfast. What a lovely spot at any time of the day. The owner was gracious and served a delicious breakfast. The veranda sits right at the waters edge so you can take in the beautiful blue waters. I...

Calibishie - a beautiful bay and a guest house which is not just on the bay - it is almost in the bay. If you want sun beds and chilled drinks delivered this is not the place for you but it is magic. The town is just a street with a couple of places to eat. Beaches nearby are yours...

My husband and I visited Dominica for the 3rd consecutive Xmas season in Dec 2015. We love Calibishie and wanted to stay in the heart of the village so we thought we'd give Veranda View a shot and it was the best decision we made on this 12 day trip. Hermien, the owner, was so so gracious that I cannot...

This is a very great guesthouse. It's small only 3 room and has a great atmosphere. Very nice owner who is serving good diner on request. The location is located on a top spot with the best view of any location we have been staying. Calibishi itself offers restaurants and little shops.

For some travellers, the stereotypical view of what a Caribbean seaside village should look like, isn't an all inclusive resort on an isolated white sand beach. It's a one road, palm fringed shoreline with a slightly shabby collection of painted wooden shacks and coloured fishing boats ,where everyone greets you and the locals are already on the rum at 4pm. That...

Veranda View is located on the main road in the seaside village of Calibishie. There is an upper and lower Veranda. There are two rooms sharing the wide covered and open Veranda. There is a vista of sand- ocean -rocks- mountains. The trade winds provide a cool escape from the village and is a great place to relax after touring the island. On the ground floor there is a 3rd room opening on to the lower Veranda. Here you can enjoy the beach, only 20 feet from the guest house, or sit with your friends and other guests while you share your incredible experiences of the day touring the Nature Island.Be sure to book for one of Hermein'e fantastic breakfasts, or reserve for dinner. Hermein's meals are as unique as the island. A blend of local, english, french and dutch foods. A great meal to be remembered. The rooms are basic but have all the comforts of home, decorated in an artistic manner. ... more   less

“We stayed in the room upstairs on the veranda, lefthand-side, which is really pretty. We talked to the people in the room downstairs who were staying there 2 weeks and also liked their room. There's basically 2 veranda's because the downstairs room has the terrace as well.”
