We only stayed one night which was not enough in this high quality immaculately kept motel. We had room 206 a large room with its own balcony with mountain views. We loved it. The owners could not be more helpful. They provided towels for the springs. Allowed us to use towels and leave our car at the motel so we...

Great establishment with everything you would expect from a top notch motel. Very comfortable rooms although some are upstairs so specify ground floor if needed. A kitchenette is included as well as towels for the hot pools.

Booked this last minute based on trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. 5 years old but so well maintained, it seems brand new. Modern, warm, well equipped kitchenette, immaculate tiled bathrooms with heated floors, great location, lovely hosts, super comfy beds. They also let us charge our electric vehicle for a small charge. Will definitely be back.

The St James never fails to impress. The location is central and the rooms are always spotless and fitted out with quality appliances and linens etc. Your delightful hosts will assist with bike storage and the like and if unfamiliar with Hanmer, I'm sure could offer you lots of good ideas for cafes, restaurants and activities.

Our agent put us onto the St James, quite happily. The rooms look brand new and are quite modern with filtered drinking water, iPod players, full kitchen and wonderful showers with, for us, immediate hot water. All of the resort is within two blocks, including the baths and three excellent Indian restaurants. Easily recommended.

This modern, new, clean, well located and well appointed lodge is a great place to base yourself in Hanmer Springs. You can easily walk to the local shops, restaurants and spas. The suites are spacious and the kitchen was well equipped all sorts of utensils and cookware. I would happily return. The owners are a friendly couple who live on...

Stayed two nights in the St. James Suite at The St. James in Hanmer Springs. This quaint pine tree mountain paradise is tucked away between Christchurch and Picton, New Zealand. We choose the suite because we wanted a two day retreat from our travel. Our suite had a nicely appointed kitchen, fireplace, two TVs, corner spa, nice view of the...

We really enjoyed our stay here and the owners were very helpful with suggestions on where to eat and what to do. We were provided with nice towels in a bag to take to the hot springs. The attention to detail was fantastic. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Hanmer Springs.

We have really enjoyed our long weekend in Hanmer Springs. The St James accommodation has been brilliant. We booked the St James suite, which is immaculate and spotlessly clean. It has a small balcony which was beautiful in the afternoon sun and I can't fault this place. Very close to the township, including Robbies restaurant, Coriander Indian restaurant, Hanmer Springs...

The accommodations at The St. James are large and modern. On check-in we were given towels and a bag to use at the hot springs, which are close by. Restaurants are also within a short walk. Our room was clean, quiet and well appointed. Laundromat is available for use by guests. We enjoyed our short stay and would certainly return...
