A resort in the garden of beautiful frangipani plants of various colours in full bloom. Quiet place to relax after visiting many attractions in the area of Pak Chong and Khao Yai. Reasonable price. Good breakfast. Great service-minded staff.
To be honest this would have probably been 4/5 if the hotel had some other guests. When we stayed it was empty - so no one at the bar, no pool towel, breakfast very poor, and massage room closed etc.... Am sure more staff, and more would have been open if the hotel had more guests. We stayed in rooms A07/05 - perfectly adequate, next to the pool so the kids could just dive in - just be careful of the broken pool furniture. Breakfast was very poor. Still, a decent stay as we spent most of the time in the national park, and elsewhere. National park, well worth it - also night market in Pak Chong.
Nice relaxing garden. The rooms are in houses, feels like we were staying in a chalet. It's value for money though a basic accommodation. The food (breakfast) or ala carte orders are slightly above average. Staff are courteous though not as forthcoming as other establishments. The only complaint is the water pressure for hot water is not good so it's slightly challenging to bathe during the colder months. The bedroom slippers provided are slippery when worn on the concrete room floors so I bought my own slippers from Tesco after the first night.
Stayed there for a night and booked 3 rooms / houses. Really authentically build Thai houses but still with western comfort inside! We were the only guests in the resort I guess, so at night it was a real jungle feeling with animal sounds all around. Very close to Khao Yai national park north entrance as well. And great breakfast. Can definably recommend it.
Lilawalai is a really beautiful place to stay set amongst the most amazing gardens which would be at least a couple of acres of beautiful tropical plants (lots of frangipanis). We stayed in deluxe rooms near the pool and they were very very nice indeed. Very nicely furnished and decorated and nice big rooms with good a verandah/terrace outside with table and chairs to sit on. Mosquito coils provided. Staff were very helpful and obliging and had good suggestions about places to go nearby to eat and also organised a good dinner for us one night in their restaurant. It is more of a traditional Lanna type buildings and furnishings but nicely done and very clean and tidy in and out. There are a lot of very new modern hotels in the area which are a lot more expensive but prices here very reasonable indeed and the feeling is relaxed. If you want to relax and take it easy I would recommend Lilawalai definitely.…
You can't beat this place for the price. The grounds are all perfect. The bungalow that you'll stay in is very clean. It's like you're in the middle of a jungle. The hotel manager is amazing and will do anything for you.
We direct transferred from Suvarnabumi Airport to this beautiful place via a van n the driver. The journey took almost 3hrs, with a stopover for some food n a quick relief. When we arrived, it was almost dark n after the admin was done, we quickly settled the baggage n had a quick shower and we were off to Pak Chong Night Market n then dinner at the popular Banmai Chay Nam Museum & Restaurant. (Was told this is a must visit when in Khao Yai) Okay, back to the resort. We booked two units of the Thai House and boy, were they just nice in size ! May be, I really should say, they are a little small. A Queen size bed, a narrow wardrobe n a tiny toilet cum shower. There a small back balcony with a lovely garden view. Okay.... there's free wifi ! And you can stream your videos ! cool The aircon's great but the water pressure for the shower is rather miserable. A mini fridge n two free water bottles per day. Once passed these, the resort offers a very family feel. It is like you are staying in a very huge ground with lots of garden space, coconut trees n mini ponds beautifully put together. The breakfast is very decent though the menu doesn't change. You get plain rice, fried rice, kway teow, ham slices, mini hotdogs, very lovely soup, and the usual toast, cereals n fruits. Coffee n hot water too. I really enjoyed the rice (both plain n fried) and pouring the soup into them to make porridge ! Yum ! You can get your laundry done here too, very reasonable price ! Ask for some discount coupons to various attractions from the front desk. If you are ever going to have your dinner back at the resort, it is advisable to inform them so that their cook stays back to cook for you. Haha.....yes, she sometimes goes home early ! Distance to the various resorts are roughly as follows : The Chocolate Factory - 30mins Thom Somboon (rides n games) - 15mins Mid-Winter Restaurant - under 10mins Khao Yai National Park - 1 hour PB Winery - 1 hour Palio Mall - 35mins Primo Piazza - 1 hour The Bloom - 1 hour Jim Thompson Farm - 1hr 20mins The Flora Park - 1 hr 20mins If you are interested to contact the van/driver, his name is Khun Jrad and his contact no is in one of the pictures attached. I am not related or affiliated to him, just sharing our options. Well, roughly that's it. As always, just my humble opinion n sharing. Hope this helps ! Cheers ! nick…
Although we were there off-season, and it was a bit quite we had a really nice stay. Especially the hotel manager was very kind and helped us find a local restaurant when the hotel chef was off one day due to a misunderstanding on our part. The resort itself is very charming with beautiful gardens - it's a joy just to walk around and see the surroundings and the rooms (we stayed in a Thai house) were very cozy and nice. The swimming pool was also very nice for an afternoon cool down. All this at a VERY reasonable price compared to other hotels nearby and is only 20-30 minutes from Khao Yai.
We booked 2 nights here as a stopover on our way home from BKK to Udon Thani, we were able to get to all of the local attractions with ease and not much travel time, the resort is about 5 klms off hwy 2 depending on which turnoff you take and has lovely gardens with grassed areas throughout, understandably a lot of the water features are dry due to the drought that we are having at the moment. We booked a Thai house bungalow via booking.com and could not fault the welcoming staff throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet is enough and as you would expect from an "up country" Thai resort (mainly catering for Thais) so dont expect too much as far as western food, maybe fried eggs with toast will be the extent of it, eat like a local and you will be fine. Internet in room was fast and had no problems, the only thing i might fault is that the aircon may be a bit small for the room, but in the end your not paying a fortune for your stay so dont expect a Hilton and just enjoy the surroundings.…
What a fantastic find! It's not very popular with Americans apparently but more popular with Europeans, particularly Swedes, but the Americans are definitely missing out. The grounds are amazingly beautiful - well manicured flowering trees with charming river and bridges. The staff was fantastic - the manager personally picked me up from the minivan station. It's truly a relaxing stay in paradise (as I've said before). Only downside is the food isn't fabulous. Highly recommended!!
