Think Khao Yai, Think Hello Hostel. Great location. Very near to Pakchong train station, morning market, night market, lots of local food stalls/shops around. Great service by host, her name is Bow. I went twice and brought along groups of friends. B Bow can help to arrange for almost everything before our arrival. Just get in touch with her through FB n chat.
We stayed at Hello Hostel last October and had a great time. We arrived by rental car and found the hostel to be situated in the back of a dead end; even though it was very narrow, we were allowed to park right there, at the end of the alley in front of the hostel. Over the next couple of days, I also found all the neighbors in that alley to be super friendly, they were laughing with me and making room whenever I reversed the car out of that narrow alley. The hostel itself is great, too. The owner is very friendly and spoke the best English of all locals we met in Thailand. We had a private room, which was spacious, clean and very well airconditioned. The shared bathroom facilities were clean, too. There was also a place to do your laundry. In the shared kitchen, you could prepare your own food, and in the morning there was a basic supply of breakfast food (cereal, toast, some fruit). The common room with a large table and the reception was a very social spot, people sat, watched strange Thai soap operas, ate food they brought from the local market (highly recommended!) and the owner also met with her friends, who shared some fruit from Indonesia with me. It felt like a home away from home, especially after I returned early from a jungle trip my husband continued to be on: it felt like an absolutely safe and great place to be staying alone as a female. (on that night, I stayed in a dorm room, which was also a great option) Thank you so much, and hopefully we'll be back one day!…
Hotel Hostel was a great value place to stay. Basic but clean and comfortable. We had a double room with the showers and loos just outside the room. it seemed nice and quiet, away from the main road but close enough to shops and places to eat, as well as the train station which is where me met for our jungle tour. The breakfast included was ample - toast, tea, fresh fruit cereals etc. Boo was very helpful which info on how to get to the hostel from Bangkok etc. before we traveled.
The hostel is clean, immaculate and homey. It’s about 5 minutes away from the railway station and easy to find, signage/directions are placed at a main road that when you walk down from the railway station you can spot it. I like the ‘garage’ which has a cool vibe - where you does laundry; coin washer at 30 baht (there’s a dryer too) and a ping pong table right beside. The night market, 7 elevens, mini marts, nail salon and eateries are 5 - 10 minutes away. Bus station/terminal is not far and within walking distance. Complimentary bicycles for use + breakfast. Motorbike for rent at a cost. Great wifi connection, board games available and different tours can be organised, they definitely know how to run it. The brekkie - selection was plenty and simply amazing. I stayed in a 6 bed mixed dormitory and bed was comfortable, new. With attention to details individual power point, clothes hanger/rack and locker are provided. Curtains by bed to ensure privacy. Fragrant of shower gel was enticing, apparently it’s their house blend. Not a noisy hostel as it’s not by main road and hostel made effort to remind guests to quiet down after certain hour including use of phones in the dorm. Bow and Piow were kind and helpful in their gestures on my questions with places I could go for meals, public transport that I should be taking and from which stop, railway lines/stations I can take for my future journey and query arrangement of taxi. Bow shared her understanding on reason some Thais do not want to speak English with foreigners and a little about herself - think that is great as having experienced a few hostels in recent months, often the lasting impact is when you start seeing them as friends rather than staff/owner. To the team & owners - keep up the good work. I highly recommend this hostel.…
It was actually my first time staying in a hostel and I was a bit apprehensive but this place is amazing. I was arriving on the night train and they were so sweet sending me instructions on how to get there and find my room/bed etc. The place is immaculately clean, comfortable beds with curtains, sockets for phone charging and a light - all you need! There was a good selection for breakfast and the communal area is lovely!
Love this hostel. Very friendly and helpful staff, fair conditions and only a 30-35 min ride with motorbike to Khao Yai. Staying for two nights in a 6 bed room. Pak Chong isn‘t very interesting, but try the night market. We found some interesting things 😉
Great hosts and company at this place, they helped us book a trip to the park and even told us of other sleeping options in the area. We ended up staying here for two nights, first in a 6 bed dorm and in a private room the next day. Thanks.
Hello Hostel, is a really great place. The staff is welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hostel is spotless clean and breakfast is great! Its location is close to the train and bus stations as well as the night market. Thanks for an amazing stay!
We had a nice stay here. Both the private room and the dorm (we extended our stay and the private room was already booked) were excellent. It’s very clean and modern looking, but with a cozy atmosphere. The staff were very kind and helpful in finding us transportation around the city. They had tours available for the khao yai jungle. We booked a full day tour with ‘Bobby’s Tours’ which was above expectations.
The owners were so sweet and helpfull. Very clean and beautyfull hostel, good breakfast. We had such a great time. Also a great spot to visit the Khao Yai NP. We rented a scooter to drive to the parc ourselve, perfect option if you want to save the costs of the tour. Spoke to other guests who recommended the tour booked at the hostel.
