We were advised by travelbook ‚lonely planet‘ to book the safari with greenleaf tours. The contact via email and whatsapp was very polite and informativ and the pickup and the dropoff included in the price , worked perfectly. As we wanted a room with ac we booked the room for 300 baht a night wich is a little bit more expencive then the normal ones. Clean beds and room, Bath was thai-standard, so absoluetly nothing to complain about with the rooms overall. Having booked the half day tour on the first day, starting at 3 pm we had enough time, to get from bangkok to pak chong in the morning. We made our way into the national park on a truck, which also was very nice to travel with, saw bats almost eye to eye in a cave and later on saw millions of them flying out of a cave, starting their hunt. We were given blankets to sit on, fresh pineapples to eat, and interesting information to remember. In the evening we got our delicious food freshly cooked by the family.(Perfect price and taste) On the second day we started our big tour, going deeper into the forest and hoping to see as many animals as possible. We started by walking into the forest a bit, trying to spot Gibbons. At First they were very difficult to see, but thanks to the binoculars, provided to us we got a perfect view and saw several families with their babys, overall three times this day. In between the several spots we got out of the car and the short walks we did, we had a lot of Miles to go by car, as the national Park is quit big with its several vegetation zones. Nevertheless this was not any kind of problem as the rides were pretty fun and made it posssible to talk to our guide a bit more. Overall we were quite lucky to spot so many animals, including elephants, gibbons, horntails, scorpions, makkaks, little vipers and someting similar to a komodo dragon. Seeing this many animals and also beeing able to hold some of them on your hand, is for sure not garanted and is not always the case, but the guides do anything in their power to show you as much as possible. Also one of the decisive things of the beautiful trip was the enthusiasm our guides had. I have honestly never seen anyone enjoying their work that much, beeing thankful for what they have and seizing every minute they spent in the national park. Furthermore they spoke almost perfect english and were quite funny and entertaining. Thanks to their good conection with the rangers ( and mvp driver uncle 😅) we were able to be at the place where the elephants were spoted within minutes. We saw them drinking and eating, crossing the road and getting as close as 30 meters which got you quite the adrenalin boost and was for sure the overall highlight. During the trips we were very well provided for, getting as much water as we needed and every now and then a little snack. With absolute certanty one of the most interesting and best experiences of our lives. Thanks a lot, greenleaf-team and Special thanks to our guide gun !

We were just looking for a place to sleep, really, and had no expectations - and since this was the establishment of the tour operator, it seemed practical. We were very pleasantly surprised - the staff was so friendly and welcoming, the food was really good (and cheap!) and they even picked us up at the train station and arranged transport for us to the bus station after our two nights. The rooms were all right, don’t expect luxury, but for the price I’d say it is definitly value for money. It’s also a very social place, we made some new friends here, which we didn’t expect. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to explore Khao Yai - the tours were excellent, the tourguides were not only very knowledgeable, but also seemed to love their jobs, their enthusiasm was smitting and they also had a great sense of humor.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. The tour guides were passionate about their work and knowledgeable about the area and flora/fauna. We did the 1.5 day tour package. Our group included people aged 2-80 and they were able to make sure we all had a good time, stayed safe, and were well fed. Pickup and dropoff from Pak Chong was flexible and easy. The hostel itself was fairly basic but they're upfront about that right away. As long as you don't need a lot of frills, it's a fine place to stay and they're happy to help you find another hotel if you'd prefer. Everybody was kind and helpful. It's a great value and I definitely recommend you check it out.

Great experience! The room is basic but clean. You don’t need airco because it is cooler down there. The hostel has great atmosphere and excellent Thai food. We did both the half day and the full day tour. The half day tour was the absolute highlight of our holiday: especially to see the bats leave their cave is unforgettable! Booking the hostel and tour combo is highly recommended. Pick up from the minibus station was smooth. Don’t hestitate but book! :)

We had the most wonderful stay and 1.5 day tour with Greenleaf Guesthouse. We were made to feel very welcome and all enjoyed the Thai hospitality, as well as the wildlife which the guides were so enthusiastic to share. As a family of 4, there was something for all of us including delicious food, beautiful scenery and a plethora of animals which the guides were skilful at finding in their natural habitat. The thought given to snacks, toilet stops and extra provisions really did ensure all our needs were met-it really was a holiday highlight. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful guides, that know where to look for wildlife. I have used this company three times already and have had a great time each time. The guides have been wonderful and very knowledgeable. They provide more than enough water and snacks for the whole day.

Greenleaf is a fantastic guesthouse and tour company. First of all - shout out to the amazing tour guides who are so knowledgeable and personable, they make the yours so unique and engaging. I travelled here solo after staying in Bangkok and it was literally a breath of fresh air. You should know that the facilities are what they say they are - simple. But after staying in busy hostels I was thrilled to have my own room with a queen bed and ensuite for only 300 baht. Yes the mattress is pretty hard and the there is only cold water but you don’t need warm water after trekking through the Thai forest. I was still very comfy. When you book the guesthouse is pretty upfront about the accomodation quality too so if you don’t realise what your booking it’s probably a you problem. The 1.5 day tour is worth it. We saw heaps of wildlife and got to see some parts of the Thai country side I never imagined could exist. And too top it all off - I left me headphones at the guesthouse and they had them posted to my next location!!! Very helpful.

Basic accommodation but perfect for anyone on a budget and still wanting to visit the beautiful khao yai national park. Went on both the full day and half day tour with the guesthouse. Tour guide was amazing and so knowledgeable. This was the best way to see the park for me as a solo traveller as other tour providers only give private tours and so your unable to join other groups ( inevitably making the price rocket)- all in all making life difficult as very few tourists are travelling in the midst of a globl pandemic! Only thing is the location of the guesthouse. Its right on a main road with no walkable amenities so unless you have a car you are a little trapped. That being said the guesthouse offers beautifully home cooked meals at an affordable price so all in all its no problem for a short stay. All in all a really great place and no suprise it's still being recommend in the lonely planet almost a decade later. Thanks alot guys!

We just planned a One Day Tour without staying in the Hostel but during the Safari we decided to stay longer In this nice Place! We have been really impressed about the knowledge the Tourguides have about the Forrest, the Plants and the Animals. They have a really Respectful handling with the Animals and the Nature! We really appreciate that!! The Rooms are simple, just cold water. It everything is nice and clean! The Food in the Restaurant is tasteful and suitable for vegetarian and vegan people!
