Hotel staff well train with luxury services experience. Over all resort are beautiful, nice landscape. There have a lot of space in the resort for guest for leisure time. I love swan lake where i can do cycling or morning walk especially during my visited.
We very much enjoyed our stay, but a couple of points for anyone planning a trip: The French restaurant shows as open 6pm-11pm on the website, but it is actually still under construction. We were told it will open in November. The spa is also still under construction and will be located near the railcar rooms that are still under construction. We were told completion by the end of the year. That said, service was amazing from all staff. On one day while walking in a light rain, we encountered a front office employee who stopped to offer us her umbrella since we had none. We did not take it, of course, but just an example of the service dedication of the staff. All were attentive in all areas of the hotel. To call out by name the excellent staff, I would need the employee roster. ALL were GREAT! The menus I have posted as I could not find them online anywhere pre-stay. All of the Thai food we had was excellent. The western food was not great, but we are in Thailand after all. The sea bass on the western menu was cooked to complete dry as is normal for fish in Thailand. Hopefully they will improve their western food skills with time. They did seem to be out of many menu items often, but I suspect this will work out with time as well. We wanted to try the beef, but it was never available. We arrived on their 19th day open. It seemed we were among the first guests to arrive without a car. They were well planned for giving guests guidance for what to do with the assumption of having a private car, but nothing was prepared for guests who arrive by hired car (as most western guests will do). Again, they just opened, so I suspect they will have some pre-planned guidance in the future. The staff did their best to call and try to locate something but on short notice nothing was available. A direct link to contact hotel concierge in advance to work out such details would be helpful. The rooms are a unique design. A bit small, but they work. Be aware that if you have a pool room, the rooms above you look down into your pool from their balcony, there is no privacy. The air con's seem pre-set and nothing you do to the controls seems to alter the temperature. Our room was too hot, and after asking about it, they changed the pre-set from 26 to 20, so we went from a bit too hot to a bit too cold. Again, nothing we did to the control changed the temperature in the room. Hopefully they can get the programming changed so that guests can adjust the temperature to their preference. The resort and nature around it are absolutely beautiful. There is no need for me to post photos as it is difficult to capture the beauty all around you. Because the hotel is new and there is still a lot under construction, I am sure they will work out many of the above things in the near future. We will definitely return again, but after the resort is complete.…
Booked the night with my girlfriend, and we really enjoyed the experience. Rooms are comfortable, and the staff accommodating, Definitely would recommend checking out the Pappilion Bar, which was built inside an upcycled train carriage. Fantastic drinks and a sophisticated atmosphere. We took a short trip to Tuscana Valley, this Italian themed village around 5 mins away from the resort. Although it seems a little kitsch and themey from the outside, we really enjoyed ourself as the food and wine was top notch.
Is not worth the value. The hotel is just open end of 2022 with nice landscape. Unfortunately the service and quality is not claimed 6 stars. The worst is the breakfast. I don’t understand why they using charcoal in their breakfast room. Are they aware of the smoke in the breakfast room that can be harmful to the customers ? Is there a reason why 6 stars hotel serve the frozen bakery ? Don’t mentioned the jam spread ,.,, coffee . I hope they review it. Is totally not worth the price of 2 nights 3 days.
Went for weekend stay with friends (6-8 Jan 2023) and its a truly disappointing experience. 2 night stay cost THB28,542 FYI. Room 212 1st night found the toilet flushing system was not working well and shower room area is clogged (not so serious but water went down very very slowly). Next morning we feedback to both housekeeping staff and reception and hoping all problems will be settled after we come back. 2nd morning, after my friend used the toilet and she found this time the flushing didnt work at all, ie the me cannot use toilet!!! At night, my friend took the shower and this time the whole shower area was flooded, the water did not go down at all this time. called for help around 11pm+ and well they came to help quite quickly (seems its not new to them) 3rd day morning before checkout, we decided that we are never going to come back. …
the hotel is extremely beautiful - and ive been waiting a long time to visit the hotel (the opening was delayed by one year) surrounding an amazing lake which is extremely peaceful. and the operations manager was extremely helpful - showed us the property and finally our room. also the kids enjoyed the kids club thoroughly as bikes were also available for rental around the lake. there is though a minus. and it could be a result of the hotel just opening two months ago. the service at their restaurant fell short immediately upon arrival. no one at the restaurant knows their opening/closing times and food is not delicious and not up to the intercontinental standards we are accustomed to. so for the one night we were there, we ventured out to eat elsewhere. something we never do. we look forward to returning back hopefully in greater spirits. -amrin…
The architecture, interior, landscape, location, facility is absolutly stunning. They bring an old railway to be the concept. It just opened last few months. We stayed in an actual train carriage. That was a gorgeous experience. Recommended to walk around the lake early morning or late afternoon, the atmosphere is very superb. The staffs are also new, some service need to be developed - For example the bell boy swiched one of our baggages with another guest who arrived at the same time. Front staff did not inform us that yoga class has been changed the location, she did not even know. F&B staff served coffee with coffee spill on coaster. Unfortunately we came on wednesday and the jazz bar is closed every wednesday. At night there was a lot of smoke from neighbor. The staff brought us an air purifier. That was so much better. Overall we are happy here and we will definitly come back and try other room type :)…
We stayed here 2 nights during the weekend. We’re IC Ambassador but we didn’t get upgrade due to next level room type was full occupancy. Anyway, we got 10k points as compensate. The lobby is very small, check-in is not the problem for us as we’re the only group during the checkin. But we checked out around 11am and it’s quite pack, it would take time as they only have on computer to work. The resort should consider about in-room checkin and checkout. The decoration here is pretty unique, you’ll love it or hate it, we like it by the way. We worried about the space in the room prior to visit but it’s not problem at the all. I don’t like the way they put minibar at the balcony, it’s not convenient for us. Maintenance is challenging for this property, we found stinky in the basin and cracking floor in the room. The landscape is very good, we really enjoyed walking around the lake in the morning. Food , it’s key topic. Breakfast was not met our expectation. No freshly squeezed juice, only pasteurized one. Buffet line is limited and the problem was food were the same for 2 days, lack of variety. However, the in-room dining was good actually. We visited kid club once, it’s quite ok, nothing special. but I would suggest to build a small playground. Other problems we found during the stay, 1. We tried to reach out instant services (4 times) and in-room dining (1 time), in 20 mins, after we completed our dinner (before 8pm) but no one pickup the phone for the first three attempts and got busy lines on the last two. So we put stuffs at the door, outside the room, it’s still there in the morning when we went out for breakfast. 2. We forgot facial foam but we noticed 3 days after departure. I gave a call to the resort. I got a response within an hour, they said they couldn’t find the item, and asked more about specific information, and mentioned will reply but I haven’t received any update for this time.…
I have been waiting for a long time to visit this hotel, and it really is a remarkable work of vision and design. Whether you are a train aficionado or design freak or just an ordinary traveler seeking something different, the Intercontinental Khao Yai is a real delight. Rooms are small, but showers and sleeping areas are luxurious. There is not much room for work, so it's not going to be a favorite for business travelers and the property is not well equipped for the needs of families -- for example our child had to sleep on a couple of blankets placed on the floor instead of a proper roll away bed. Food in the main dining room was very good, but during our stay we discovered on arrival the French restaurant and Tea restaurant were closed on Monday and Tuesday, so we were a little limited in our choices and there is not much options directly outside the hotel unless you have a car at your disposal. Overall, the hotel is beautiful with so many little details and charming areas to walk and explore. We loved the pool area and would have enjoyed spending an extra day or two without the kids next time, Highly recommended!…
We arrived a bit late in the evening, around 7.30pm as it is an easy 3.5 hour drive from Suvarnabhumi airport and our flight only landed post 2pm. This was a mistake as we lost the whole day at this gorgeous property! We should have finished our stay in bangkok and then moved here as then we could have left earlier in the morning from bangkok and got here by noon. Myself and my Husband are huge Bill Bensley fans and came to Khao yai because of the hotel, however we also fell in love with Khao yai! We stayed at The Siam in bangkok in August also done by Bill, who in my view is a genius, and loved loved The Siam! The room we had 122 is a lakeside suite and was exceptional and very spacious for the most part! The room was spacious enough to have an extra bed without feeling cramped at all. It truly does make you feel like you are in a train bogie but superduper luxurious one! All the rooms are decorated with actual vintage railway paraphernalia making it always in character and unique. The balcony is lovely and huge leading to the Media room which is also large and spacious, with a huge daybed where the family can hang, play games, watch TV etc. This also leads out to a second, cutest balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the mountains and the beautiful swan lake! Just gorgeous! I felt the area to keep your luggage and wardrobe and bathroom area was a bit cramped but I guess the best that could be done with the space and layout. We also did a resort tour which was beautiful, and it was amazing to see the three lakes and the expanse of lush greenery. The highlight were the swans! We were awestruck by their grace and beauty and saw them nesting as well. One can go for long walks and I can’t think of another place offering this amongst such beauty, peace and tranquility. I do feel that there isn't another hotel like this to experience with 64 rooms built on 100 acres, with such variety of different plants and greenery, landscaping that leaves you feeling that you were blessed to have experienced such beauty! A real win again for Bill Bensely, a true labour of love, and one that would have taken a couple years at least to have achieved this level of perfection in the landscaping. Food is the part that may fall short a little. Somying Kitchen is good but the menu is limited, and can get a bit monotonous. It is a precarious situation for the hotel as it is only a 64 room hotel, hence the limited outlets and food options. The Phad Seeaw though was really delicious. We never tried the French restaurant Poirot. It was lovely the see the Heritage One bedroom villas which are the upcycled train carriages converted into the rooms. Bensley has stripped the carriages and refurbished them into luxury accommodation, with marble bathrooms and exquisite upholstery and ornate curved ceilings, window frames and interiors. The spa is just started and is also in a train carriage which makes it so so unique but we never reached. The staff and service was impeccable and went way beyond their call of duty, no matter what we request for! Special thanks to Danny, Jeab for arranging the taxi to see the absolutely unmissable Khao Yai art museum and visit to the Bat Cave. All the housekeeping staff, restaurant staff were also amazing, keeping our rooms spotless and serving us always with a smile. The staff attitude is so positive that they will go out of their way to accommodate you, and gave us a late checkout, even though our original room had guests coming, by moving us down to a smaller room for the extra hours. This hotel is unforgettable and an experience of a lifetime! Please don't miss going on this botanical journey and an experience of ultimate hospitality. I have attached pics from the art museum and bay cave too.…
