From the moment they handed us the fresh lemongrass water as we checked in, I felt like I was in a little piece of heaven. The scenery and location of this hotel is beyond beautiful and the decor of the communal areas is simple and organic and fits perfectly within its surroundings. The food in the restaurant is incredible, pad-see-ew isn’t on the menu, but they happily made it for us and it’s the best I’ve ever had! And the staff are an asset to the reserve, they were all so kind and helpful! The only reason I would give this 4/5 is that I feel the rooms are VERY basic for the price you pay, maybe closer to a 2* rating. But the views from the balcony do make up for it, as do the staff. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful, quiet location with great views of the mountains. Friendly staff. Modern rooms and SPOTLESSLY clean. Yummy breakfast. Nice private feel but still close enough to the local town for convenience. Highly recommend!!
This is a very nice local hotel. It has great views and there is a great area to watch the sunset and have a beer. Food is very good here and no need to go and find a restaurant. Very good Thai food. Rooms are basic but nice a clean. Service is very friendly. 20 minute drive to the national park
nice location beautiful view nice restaurant with delicious food friendly staff room also very elegant but in my room there was some problem with a bathroom but not so serious... nice place to relax and very nice weather
This is not a bad resort, and we had an enjoyable time here (2 nights). The fact is, for a relatively new (2012) resort it feels very tired and worn down. Also very primitive. No mod cons. Bed is rather uncomfortable and the shower water pressure is low and temperature tepid. The view from the room balcony and restaurant terrace is definitely a highlight. Also the staff are very friendly, no complaints. Would love to give a higher rating. 3*
I have stayed long time ago and i don't know the room conditions for now but location vise, the resort located 20-30 minutes away from Khao Yai National Park and very close to vineyards. Kham Reserve being up on the hill and i would say one of best view in the area for restaurant/lounge they have. Highly recommended !
Despite other negative reviews from previous visitors we tried one of the three caves and loved it. A late evening drink on the terrace above your own cave bungalow is worth the smaller windows. At the end you are there to enjoy the nature rather than staying in your room. Special mention to efficient and yet friendly service from the local staff.
For Westerners this place is not a 'resort'. It is a place with a lot of charm and was a great place for us to relax. It is far away from the hustle of Khao Yai main street. A car is required to get around. Meals were lovely, the staff were very helpful - especially the Mai and Mei (our adopted daughters now) The rooms are Thai style, basic but all you need. Super massages at reasonable prices. The setting is gorgeous. A place with a lot of charm for a restful couple of days. To see any attractions you do need a car. There are no taxis or Tuk Tuks and the price of transport from Kham Reserve is quite high. Overall we recommend this place for its charm and quietness. BTW - There is no swimming pool.
We had a great experience. To provide the latest update and address some of the previous posts: - Value - was very good relative to the location and prices of other properties. - Facilities - well set up and clean. Got the little things right, e.g. hair dryer, umbrella, torch etc. - Staff - very helpful, had coverage of English, never had an issue with any request. - Services - They have addressed comments about tours and transfers. There are schedule of available tours and also extensive transfer prices. - Food - some of the best mid-range western food we have had in Thailand in the last 2 years.
I don't know where the last reviewer stayed, but he certainly didn't stay at the same hotel as I did!! This is a beautiful place, well maintained, clean and very comfortable. It is NOT rundown and in fact beats other places around this area for comfort, views and amenities. The room is well stocked with bathroom amenities and has a great views over the valley (my pictures show views from the Cottage). The bed was very comfortable and we had an excellent night's sleep. The staff were happy and very attentive to our needs. But probably the best part was the restaurant - exquisite views at nightfall and great food with trendy seating options, perched on top of one of the buildings. Breakfast was served lower down but still enjoyed fantastic views and a great feed for the morning. I would highly recommend this place, especially if you want a quiet stay and rest. Wish we had time to have stayed longer and will definitely come back again.…
