You can't miss the view at Sunrise Villas Resort. No matter which room you are in you have the magnificent view of the rocky shore looking across to the mainland. The resort is located adjacent to Nadan Pier along the North Coast of Koh Samed. The smartly furnished, air-conditioned rooms are all fitted with wardrobes, fridges and mini-safes with tiled flooring and a private veranda that overlooks the gently lapping waters of the rocky beach. All rooms have private bathrooms with shower facilities. The resort provides access to the internet via it's free Wi-Fi service. The resort can also provide laundry services and a barbecue area. The waterfront bar and restaurant serves authentic Thai and western dishes. A breakfast menu is also offered there.
Nice view, short walk from pier, small island, short walk everywhere. Taxis inexpensive to use, Sai Kaew beach is awesome, nice restaurans on the beach. Spectacular fireshow at Ploy Palay restaurant, must see! Also food was very tasty and affordable.

When looking for somewhere to stay on Koh Samed I decided to base my decisions on other people comments. Using one of the larger OTAs, I actually noticed that many of the higher ratings had been earnt by simpler properties. In the past I have also found that many middle level Thai resorts have become very complacent with their pricing to quality ration, even during Covid times. The description for Sunrise Villas was straightforward and as it turns out, very accurate. We enjoyed a 3 night stay. The property is simple, reception is not much more than a cupboard and the pathway to the bungalows is a slight challenge with irregular steps and angles. However, this is part of the quirky charm of this place. Squeezed between a small road and the sea the villas are semi-detached, they are simple, quite small but well fitted out. You have a terrace, small bedroom, safe, fridge, kettle and good AC. The room is simple, functional and clean. The bathroom is the same, functional, reasonably sized and clean. It is the typical Thai wet floor bathroom, but I find these practical and easy to use. For me the large bonus was the bug screen on the balcony door so you can enjoy the sound of the sea without any mosquitos. The table and 2 chairs on the terrace is a wonderful place to relax with a drink as the sun goes down or also for sunrise. The price we paid was great value for money and the room of better quality than many others. It is simple, yet the location is incredible. My only warning would be to anyone with a mobility issue as the pathways and steps are irregular and if you do have any difficulties walking, this may be challenging. Thank you to the staff of Sunrise Villas, we very much enjoyed our stay with you and will recommend to others.…

It was great to stay somewhere so close to the pier. We walked to the accomodation. Staff were welcoming and rooms were daily cleaned. Great view from your room of open water and a communal eating area right on the water. About 10 minute walk to the beach to swim. 711 and many eateries and cafes walking distance.

First thing is that the name Sunrise Villas is incorrect. If expecting to see the sunrise from your room you will be disappointed. That said the views are quite spectacular which perhaps makes up for that. I was advised not to leave anything on the balcony as they have a dog problem at night, indeed they do, I was awoken on half the nights a couple of times per night with dogs barking and howling. Bedding and towels are old and worn out. The room is fine with aircon, decent shower and tea making so all that is good. The location is great being a few minutes to the town and a short 15min or so walk to the beach so that cannot be faulted. Overall I was satisfied but the dogs need sorting if you are to get a good nights sleep.

We stayed in room 4 - highly recommended or room 5! What an amazing stay this was. We were only here for 2 nights but could have stayed longer. The room was lovely with a nice clean bathroom. The view was amazing! waking up to that on a morning was fantastic. Sitting out on the patio area was beautiful, so peaceful just watching the boats come and go. we ate a couple of times here and couldn't fault any of it. The main strip is about 5 minute walk from here. I would 100% recommend anyone staying here and the pictures on the website don't do it justice! I would love to stay here again if I returned to Samet

This really is a special hotel with breathtaking views. We had rooms 1 and 2 so we didn't hear or see the pier at all. We found the walk to the national park beaches a pleasant walk through the little town. We also swam in the little beaches a few minutes walk the other way from the hotel but little crabs nibbled our feet so I recommend swim shoes for that side of the island but still lovely as well. Tim was so helpful and a nice guy. All the staff were very helpful. This is a lovely place and gorgeous island. I did find the steps a challenge but I am 60yrs old and overweight. This would not stop me from staying here again though. It does have the best English breakfast in town delivered to your room if requested. Worth the money.

This was my second visit to Koh Samet and Sunrise Villa. I absolutely love the resort for it's location and its view. The staff is friendly and Tim, the manager, is a wonderful person and always welcoming. The breakfast menu is affordable and proportions are quite filling. The ambience of the villa makes you relax and get into the holiday mode. It's a 12 minute walk to the beach. You get good deals if you make early reservations. Payment however has been a problem for me on both occassions. They don't take Amex and for some odd reason Visa card kept on being declined. Had to pay cash. They say MasterCard is apparently not a problem. Despite that, it's still a wonderful place to stay.

on the boat over from the mainland we spotted the resort and couldn't believe how close it was to everything. including the docking pier. it is at one end of the main strip, at the other the national park - with its sexy beaches and nice eateries. I'm giving Sunrise 5/5 because although there are definitely improvements that can be made, I can't find a legitimate moan about our stay. let's get a few negatives out the way: some steep steps, may not be ideal for everyone. But if you have mobility issues you should ask where you're staying for info. a few people have mentioned rubbish, yes indeed it could do with a tidy up - things could be put away neater and there's certainly some eye-sores, but nothing blocked our routes etc. Rooms are a little small BUT how much time on a beautiful tropical island do you want to spend in your room... runs adjacent to busy road and you of course hear the sirens and horns of boats. lastly, my Thai girlfriend even mentioned it - the duvet was too warm. and she hates being cold. on night two with air-conditioner on lowest setting I still got a sweat on. other than that, I'm quite content. positive stuff: friendly staff, couldn't do enough for us. food was amazing. view over rocky shoreline was stunning. and advantageous as it meant people weren't constantly walking past, talking, playing games etc. 7eleven and street food 5 minutes walk away. fridge, decent shower, reasonable air-con, free water in room. was it The Ritz? no! was it clean, friendly, reasonably priced, and great location? yes. recommended. …

Simple hotel, close to the main pier. Very clean. New shower room and the wifi was excellent. Tim the owner is very helpful and Mai on reception sorted us out with a boat trip to the local islands with a company that comes and collects you from the hotel. Highly recommended

We decided to stay here for 5 nights after having read decent reviews online. We were greeted by Tim, the owner when we arrived who was lovely and very informative. The room was nice although small which overlooked a very scenic view of the sea. There isn’t a beach which we knew about already however there are some points I’d like to mention that which made our stay rather uncomfortable at this hotel. 1. There was rubbish everywhere as you can see on the photo which absolutely stunk! 2. We had to ask the hotel receptionist for our room to be cleaned. When it did get cleaned, it wasn’t cleaned properly! They only make your bed and that’s it. Also, on one of the days, one of the cleaners left our door open and didn’t lock it! Thank god we didn’t leave any valuables. 3. The bathroom smelt absolutely horrible. We had to always close the door after because the smell was unbearable! 4. The towels that they give you are dirty, full of stains and also smelt. There was a bucket next to our room where they were washing the towels in dirty water. We decided to use our own! 5. From when we left the room around 12pm - 1pm to go to the beach and came back around 4pm, there were 3/4 cleaners from that time till we came back hanging around the balcony of our room either sleeping, eating OR plucking each-others armpits! I’d like to state here to BE VERY CAREFUL with your belongings because I had my bras stolen from here (yes, very odd) and it’s also strange that they linger near your room for over half of the day! Overall, the room was okay and the view is nice but thats really it. The foul smell, rubbish and dodgy, lazy cleaners ruin what COULD be a good hotel.…
