We booked this hotel for a week’s ski holiday after the long pandemic lock-downs had prevented us from travelling the previous year. The hotel was very welcoming and friendly with excellent attentive service from Eva and Liradonna during our stay. Highlights included a good sized comfortable bedroom with a nice view down the valley with an excellent power shower. The Breakfast choice was one of the best if not the best I have ever had. The bar was cosy, the wellness centre including saunas were most welcome after a day on the slopes, the Restaurant was good as we ate there on our first night. There were a number of other good restaurants nearby which were full of character and very pleasant. The main Gondala lift is a 10 minute walk and there are 2 ski hire shops on the way to the lift. I used Insider Ski, who I can highly recommend without hesitation as I can recommend the Hotel Garni Forelle. There are bus stops directly outside the hotel for travel up to Hintertux or down into Mayrhofen. All in all, a comfortable, friendly & convenient place to stay .Also, the ski room was well equipped and secure .…
Spent a week-long ski holiday here with family and friends. The rooms are large and comfortably appointed with great beds and nice bathroom/shower. Somewhat of a rarity in Europe, the lighting in the bathroom is superb. An extensive on-site sauna and steam room is included and the hotel has its own bus stop, greatly simplifying travel to and from ski resorts. WiFi, nice ski locker room with heated boot racks and a play room for children round out the amenities. Our week included not only a full breakfast each morning, but also an afternoon snack and a five-course, four-star dinner in the evening. Breakfast is served buffet style with traditional Austrian meats, cheeses, spreads, breads, radishes, sweet pepper slices, tiny tomatoes, sliced cucumber, as well as home made preserves, cereal with fresh yogurt, fresh fruit, specially seasoned scrambled eggs and bacon. Endless pots of coffee with hot cream are brought directly to the table. The trick is to organize one's plate and resist the temptation to put too much on the plate or to return for more goodies. In the morning each table is provided with a little newsletter with current ski conditions and a short history lesson of what happened on that particular day. A menu of the evening meal is prepared and each guest selects their option of two main courses, at least one of which is a traditional Austrian dish. The dinners are delicious and gorgeously plated. Appetizers are especially creative and the nightly soup is always very fresh and interesting. The Hungarian wait staff was diligent and pleasant, with the exception of an occasionally grumpy head waitress, Edit. Young Szoka's smile that lights up the world made up for Edit. Occasional and puzzling lapses in customer service knocked my rating down by a star, particularly in the onsite bar, in which smoking was unfortunately allowed and service lagged. On a few occasions we sat in the dining room waiting for our ticket after draining our aperitifs for an inordinately long time while the staff cleared tables and did prep work for breakfast.…
we booked a long weekend for a group of friends. From the first contact via email to the last goodbye they were incredibly helpful and supportive. The rooms are modern and clean. Restaurant is nicely designed. Food is excellent. The sauna area is generous and well designed. The lift to Zillertal 3000 and Mayrhofen is a 2-3 minute walk away Overall a fantastic experience. Thank you to the family and all of the staff
This hotel is family owned and driven, and everybody does all the can to make your stay pleasant. And it works. Very nice rooms, nice and clean hotel, and a very good breakfast. Even though we were there out of season in august, and there were few other guests, we felt the the service was still on high season level. High season is probably in the winter time. The village is not big and the activities limited, but a good place to live if you want to use the beautiful mountains surrounding the place.
Once again we spent a wonderful time at this hotel. The hotel is nice and cosy, just right for our skiing trip with young children. The food is just wonderful and very original. The owners are very friendly and ready to help wherever they can. We will certainly return!!
Very cozy. I was very impressed with the organisation and the friendliness of the owners. All works well and they are very-very helpful and caring. I will certainly go back and revisit them. Thanks for everything!
The hotel is nice and the staff is very friendly The food is just incredible regarding the price of the room ! Maybe the best half board in austria ! 5 stars for sure ! Don't hesitate to try the restaurant
We have just spent our second year at the hotel as part of a large group (some of which have been coming for 5 years). The hotel is more than basic but not luxurious - just right for a ski holiday. It is near the main ski lift and also the bars and shops. The ski bus stop is right outside the door if you fancy a trip to the glacier. The food in the evening is fantastic - the chef (who I believe is the owner) really can cook. The place is spotless. My only negative comment is that we sometimes had to wait a while for drinks (although I admit a less alcohol reliant group may not find this a problem!).
This hotel combines both worlds - Austrian tradition with modern wellness and haute cousine. Management is flexible to address individual needs. The location is very convinient to combine mountain (ski) area with bars and shops just nearby.
I stopped at this restaurant during a skiing holiday in Austria. My friends were on the slopes, but since I do not ski, I was looking for a place to just chill for a few hours. This restaurant/hotel is ideal for that. Despite the fact that the season had not yet started, the owner welcomed me into the bar where I had a lovely sausage, some really first class AUSTRIAN BEER, and a superior cappuccino. The restaurant and the whole hotel is beautifully maintained. I would recommend this place to any travellers!
