One of the best hotel stays I have ever had in my life.

The service is 10/10. Everyone is so friendly, speaks English, and always there to help you - going above and beyond.

The rooms are 10/10 - newly renovated, extremely comfortable, heated floors, and even a large balcony which is a nice bonus.

The amenities/spa - 10/10 huge with so many options of treatments and places to relax

The restaurant next door and breakfast are delicious

Value - 10/10 - you truly get your money's worth

Stay here and you wont be disappointed. Guarantee it

Great job Franz on running such an amazing establishment. We will miss our stay here.

Beautiful hotel, great service. Food was excellent, much better than we would have hoped. Parking is free and right next to the hotel. Lots of hotel activities such as cycling, hiking and evening buffets. Lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend in winter or summer.

Thanks again.

I´ve been a regular at the Zillertal valley for the past 5 years. I stay a minimum of 30 days there each year.

This time was my 4th time at Bergfried, but the very first one I could see the backstage.

I had a problem there in regard to room changes, errors on the bill etc., but things that would not mean a big deal in most cases.

However, in this specific case, on the very first episode of relevant problems I had there, I´ve uncovered the real face of the place.

In general, only the sons, daughter and daughter-in-law would be in touch with you on an everyday basis, but once the problem took place I´ve decided to go directly to the father.

I heard from him things like "We have 20.000 people every year, you are only 3!" and "Why did you stay so long if you had problems?".

Well, I gave that guy a good and detailed answer, to his level, but at the end I felt uncomfortable. His son offered me a crappy solution but I didn´t accept and decided to leave and will never go back to that place.

I got a clear sense that they are confident about the amount of money they make (for the standards of that whole tiny area they are considered to be one of the big hotels) and that they know very accurately how much do they make per head there.

All the attitude of making the whole family work together (it is quite common in many austrian hotels, there is a family running the business), displaying those pictures with the whole family looking happy spoiling guests is pure acting.

They see tourists as if they had a $ written on their foreheads, never fool yourself.

I´d say if you ever go there, try not to care much if you have a problem, enjoy the Zillertal, and keep the fantasy alive. If you have a problem, try solving it without interaction, even if you have to take some loss.

This is the best hotel I have stayed in Austria hands down. Great spa, delicious 5 course dinner. The staff is very friendly that you don't even feel like you are in hotel. Rooms are very nicely renovated. I can't think of any service I was missing while my stay.

I like to stay there with my friends. I like to stay there with my family as well. It’s great place to relax in completely new hotel combined Austrian tradition, mountain style and modern design. Kids have nice swimming area and adults have cozy lounges to relax with traditional spirits or wide choice of wines.
5 course dinner menu is delicious! Hotel has grown, staff stayed, now it is necessary to catch the shortcomings of service.

From the first e-mail to the hotel till the minute you leave, every thing is perfect.
The rooms, the spa, the dinning room, the food - JUST PERFECT!
But beyond all - the people and the service, they will make you feel great.
Only one small thing: the folding bed is not comfortable if you have back problem.
We can guarantine you wouldn't regret booking a vacation with the Bergfried family.
Thank you very much for the amazing vacation you made for us!!

This is a top hotel for skiing and great value for money. The food is excellent (both breakfast and dinner). The "lifestyle suites" are very cosy, modern, super clean and spacious. The spa area is very good and big, the outdoor whirlpool is fantastic and the massage treatments an absolute joy. The position is very quite which means great sleep quality. The closest ski lift is 3 minutes walking distance but there is also an efficient shuttle service in the morning and a bus stop just down the road. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back in the future!!!

We have been skiing twice a year for the last ten years and have stayed in some lovely places, however we have never stayed anywhere as near as nice as this place. Mayrhoffen is fantastic for skiing the hotel is amazing and if you can go the same week as the snowbombing festival you will have a wonderful time. Family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 13 and 10

Absolutely fabulous, no way will you find any faults with this hotel. An oasis of comfort, unsurpassable friendliness of all the staff and the most tremendous, remarkable and delicious Cuisine we have come across in Europe. Memorable the evening in the 'Alm' with Benny and Maggie and the boss and his band playing 'oldies'. That was fantastic! A must for everybody. Keep it up Bergfried Team, we loved every moment of our stay with you. We will be back!
