#1 of 17 B&Bs / Inns in Bad Goisern
The Agathawirt-hotel was built in 1517. The "historical" part of the Hotel is nominated by the Haager Konvention. In this historical part our guests enjoy our well-known restaurant with typical Austrian specialities. The rooms are located in the modern new-part of the hotel - quiet - view to the mountains and garden. The Agathawirt-hotel today not only is well-known for the restaurant, but although as a spezialized mountainbike- and hiking-hotel. ... But although for the central location within the area we are a good decission for your visit of the Salzkammergut-region with it's famous villages, e.G. Hallstatt, Bad Ischl, Ausseerland, lake Wolfgangsee

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel as part of a walking holiday. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. The furnishings are a bit older, but in good condition. We had a balcony with a beautiful view. The pool and sauna areas are great, and we really enjoyed relaxing in the garden area in the afternoons. We stayed on a half-board basis with breakfast and dinner included. Breakfast was good - standard fare, good quality, plentiful. The dinner each night was 4 courses from a fixed menu - good choices each day with meat and vegetarian options. The weather was nice, so we had dinner outside each night in a covered patio area. They have a nice selection of beer at the bar. Service is efficient and a bit brisk - some have described it was cold, but everyone seemed friendly enough, just busy.

We stayed for one night at this hotel as we wanted to explore the bike trails in the area, which by the way are pretty well laid out and suitable for various levels of ability. The staff was very friendly and helpful, suggesting a suitable bike route for us. We booked a standard room without a balcony. It was quiet and clean, although not luxurious, which however was perfectly fine for a one-night stay. There is free parking on the premises and a separate locked garage for bikes, which includes air pumps and basic tools. The hotel has a sauna and small heated pool. Dinner and Breakfast were good – nothing spectacular, but after our demanding bike ride, we were too tired to care! You can sit outside in the garden restaurant in warm weather.

Hotel is perfectly located in Salzkammergut area. Andrea will give a warm welcome and has perfect suggestions about activities in the area. Room comfortable, big and clean. Very good restaurant. Sauna, turkish bath, swimming pool complete the "accessories" ... very appreciated after a biking day.

We just stayed at the Landhotel Restaurant Agathawirt and it was fabulous. It is very quaint with relaxing grounds to wander and sit. It is located perfectly for many beautiful walks in the area. By far, the best thing however, was the food at the restaurant. It was amazing. Every single thing we had was delicious. This is a top restaurant and hotel! I highly recommend.

Hotel style and decor off a previous era, however clean and comfortable. When it’s 30*c + you need air conditioning- sadly not available anywhere in the hotel. Good base for walking/cycling. Food was ok. Beware the older male waitress [recognisable by his miserable demise]. He insisted on us paying cash for a meal when, as normal, everything can be charged to your room - maybe he’s on commission? Swimming pool whilst small was good and well maintained.
