The location for this guesthouse is perfect for the Krampus parade held every year on December 7th. A short walk over the river and railway track to the market square and you are there. The village is small and doesn't offer a great deal other than a couple of shops, a bakery and pizzeria but the location of the guesthouse is only 25 minutes from hallstatt and stobl (in a car) both great places to visit during advent. The guesthouse is basic, no frills, two bunk beds pulled together to form a double bed, bathroom and shower room is shared. Breakfast is continental and adequate.(eggs, cheese, cold cuts, fruit, warm bread rolls, orange juice and cereal) Overall the hosts are very friendly, the rooms are warm and spacious.

We were here for 4 nights. Now, this review is a bit old- we were there February 2016. Great spot within a 10 minute walk at the most to Bad Goisern Hauptbahnhof. Awesome spot to be based for the Austrian Lakes. We did day trips from here to Hallstatt, Bad Ischl and Traunkirchen. We managed Salzburg in a day from there to. Bad Goisern itself is a nice little town to. Mortimuhle is quirky and we loved it. Nice breakfasts and the owners are a delight. We would definitely stay there again.

When we were young, maybe it did not bother me, but I was surprised to discover that there was no shower and toilet in the room, but public and shared. The room was large and had eight beds and nothing else. The beds are not very large (and we are of average height). Breakfast was very meager and stingy. The only advantage of the place is close to the town of Halstatt where accommodation costs are much more expensive (but surely also get more)

It is not easy to find with GPS, but it is located by the river and close to the bridge. It is close to the center of the town thus supermarket, drugstore, banks, restaurants are easy to be reached. The breakfast if simple. The guests share the bathroom and restroom, but we didn't wait long. The only thing to complain is the bedding and pillows are not comfortable.

We found it really difficult to locate using GPS, in the dark. It does have a name sign, but at night, the sign cannot be seen from the road and is very small. Luckily, local people helped us track it down. Toilets are shared, but we never had to wait to use one. We had booked a private double room. It was pretty basic, simple furniture, a very comfortable bed, great wifi, and the most amazing in-room rainfall shower! Certainly didnt expect that! Communal breakfast, simple fare, all so fresh, hot bread rolls from the oven, fresh eggs, cold cuts, fruit. No espresso though. The people running it were really friendly too. Cant use credit cards to pay, only cash! Bring enough!
