Life is too short to stay in places like this. We booked for three nights - Villa Barberino looked perfect for day trips to Florence and Siena. However, while the villa grounds are nice, it is set in the industrial part of a not very nice town. The villa overlooks a huge power station with two huge chimneys. However, that...

Dear Sirs, We really appreciate that you enjoyed our breakfast, our cleanliness, and our grounds. At the same time we are very sorry that you didn’t like the room we assigned to you. We would like to underline that you reserved a classic room which is the basic and the standard one and so it has no view on the...

I spent the month of October in Italy and used Villa Barberino as my first stop to rest, in order to sleep off my jet lag, six hours time change from Toronto. This was the start of my seven city exploration of the northern, Emilia Romagna region. I couldn't have picked a better resort; beautiful grounds, Tuscan farm buildings, bella...

We were a little apprehensive driving into the village as it felt a little industrial but as you drive into the Villa you are fully ensconced in Tuscan heritage. The grounds are just stunning. Our room was very nice, just off a courtyard. The room was big and everything was clean and tidy. There is a safe and a hairdryer....

As nice as the grounds of this resort are, is how absolutely terrible the rooms are as well as the service and the breakfast. We are seasoned travellers and have travelled the world three times over. We have stayed in 3 star to six star resorts so know quality and crap. The rooms are dated as are the stained linens...

Dear Sirs, we have read carefully your review and we would like to reply point by point to your complaints. We are glad that you appreciated our grounds, we remember that your husband told us many times he found our property really gorgeous! On the other hand, we are sorry that, even if you didn’t use an explicit way, you...

We only stayed one night, and we did regret not staying longer. It's located in a very quiet location (although we stayed on a sunday), and the location is great. When we stayed, it was overcast with some rain - so we couldn't see the Villa in it's sunny glory. But it was still very nice. I saw some people...

I guess we came with high hopes having depended on the pictures and reviews but left with relieve. Plus-point of this villa are ample private parking and wifi. The apartment was a little bit eerie but overall good. But the food served during dinner left a lot to be desired.

The grounds and buildings of the estate are quite extraordinary. Every where you looked it was simply stunning. My room was very simple and I probably should have upgraded to a superior room. However the staff was so accommodating and charming that I overlooked the lack of amenities. The food had great and not so great moments. But if it...

Villa Barberino really is a beautiful place - the ingredients are there, but it somehow needs bringing together. It has a fab restaurant; great food and amazing service by 'Andreas', however the decor and finishings do not match up to the expectations ... same can be said of the rooms - advertised as luxury with antique furniture; they are well...

Not only a splendid traditional Tuscan farm house with armory and watchtower conversion, but for location purposes, it sits close to the Chianti Road, so is a perfect base to see the famous Tuscan countryside. For peace and quiet, nostalgia, amazing views and manicured gardens, it is tops. There is an outdoor pool for relaxation if it is a sunny...

We stayed at Villa Barberino for one week in August 2015, with two friends and my teenage daughter and really appreciated the location. Beautiful gardens, stunning views - and nice staff. In our little apartment everything was rather clean and once you are used to harder matrasses (I like that), the beds were ok, too. Our dinner at the restaurant...
