This is a very small (four or five rooms) hotel in a centuries-old palazzo in Civitella which itself is a small, interesting hilltop town in Tuscany. The hotel is run by the family that owns the palazzo and their care and desire to have their patrons enjoy their stay is palpable. Our stay was for several days starting the end of October and ending in early November. Each of rooms (we saw several) are different with each having a mixture of what appear to be family heirlooms and other "antique" furniture. Our bed was very comfortable, the bedding itself verged on the luxurious. The bathroom was huge and quite modern and, indeed, luxurious.

Very good value. We wholeheartedly recommend it.

My wife and I stayed at Palazzo Tarlati for four nights at the begining of November and have nothing but good things to say about it. The hotel is a recently renovated Palazzo originally from the 10th century located in Civitella, a beautiful small medieval town on a hilltop overlooking the Val di Chiana in Tuscany. It is owned and run by the Sabatini family who go out of their way at every moment to make sure everything is perfect. There are only five rooms in the hotel, each with a unique character and different antique furnishings (we stayed in the Clarissa). The bathrooms are very modern with all the conveniences. On our last day the Sabatini’s took us on a tour of the Palazzo which is a museum in itself, and which I won’t describe here so as to leave some surprises for all of those who visit. The location is secluded yet close to the A1 near Arezzo in the heart of Tuscany south of Florence. A real gem. More
