I stayed at the Artiem Capri for one night only between my arrival on Menorca and a connecting flight the next day. I had once worked on the island and had stayed at the Capri twenty years previously. I found a very good rate for the night on the Artiem website and booked directly, I also sent an email explaining my short trip was a trip down memory lane and I received a prompt response looking forward to my arrival.

I arrived at the hotel via short bus ride from Mahon Airport just before noon on a Saturday. Then hotel whilst looking similar on the outside has had a very modern refurbishment inside. Upon check-in I was advised our room was not yet ready and we were directed to store our cases. One of the staff showed us around a self-service hospitality area which was a new addition (it had previously been a traditional style pub/bar). This area was free to use for all guests and included complimentary drinks and snacks. Some alcoholic beers and wines were also available. The local beer and spirits were not. There was an honesty bar for spirits which I found reasonable. A refrigerated display had lots of sweet and savoury snacks you could help yourself too. We spent around two hours happily indulging ourselves and it's a very nice area to relax in.

We eventually got our key and found ourselves in a very modern, clean street-facing twin-bedded room with a small balcony. The bathroom looked newly refurbished and was immaculate. The beds were comfortable and we had a lot of storage available as well as a safe and fridge. I could quite happily have settled in for the week. We went out to meet a friend who now lives on the island so did not see much more of the hotel, but the location is very good, only a very short five minute walk from the main square with the bus station just behind. Mahon is magical little city, more like a town. Lots of wonderful narrow streets to explore and a pretty port area to find food, drink and nightlife. I especially liked the former fish market which is now a great place for tapas and pinchos.

We booked room only, so did not sample the breakfast of any of the meals offered. We did though spend an hour on the roof at the small pool area overlooking rooftops of Mahon. It is more or a plunge pool and ideal in the very hot summer months, but there is ample sunbathing on two levels. The hotel also offers spa facilities - something which we did not use.

I highly recommend this hotel if you have business within Mahon, or you prefer to stay in an urban /cultural setting and tour the island rather than staying in one of the coastal resorts. My final mention must go to the staff, the reception staff in particular were so friendly and helpful. I hope to return to Menorca again and will be pleased to stay at the Artiem Capri.

We had a lovely stay here for my 21st birthday and would stay again. 3 of us stayed in one room which was really big and had 3 double beds, the hotel is really clean and staff speak good English, our bathroom was also huge and had a big "rainforest" shower which was really nice, beds were comfy and had a big TV and balcony. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning and they had a wide selection of fresh food (hot and cold) including REALLY good tasting fruit, pancakes, bacon, spanish sausage, lots of different types of cheese, bread and cake, potato, sliced meat, several different types of juice, coffee, milk, soya milk etc. so there was something for everybody. The room next to reception also has a fridge where you can help yourself to free food such as sandwiches, salads, yoghurt and drinks. On the top floor there is a heated swimming pool which was relatively quiet while we were there, a jacuzzi and hot tub, steam room, sauna and spa. I recommend booking with the spa - I had a face and head massage which was great. There is also a little garden on the roof with lounge chairs and you have an amazing view of the city and mountains. I want to thank Maribel on reception the most as she bent over backwards to ensure we were always happy and was so lovely and helpful 24/7. Maribel was really welcoming and asked us how we were every day, she booked cabs for us, never hesitated to answer all our questions and even helped to book a horse riding activity for my birthday. I cannot thank her enough. There was also another lady on reception (she was blonde) who was really helpful and booked a cab for us too, however I didn't catch her name - I'd like to thank her as well. We had dinner for 2 nights out of the 3 that we stayed for at the hotel bar, which I recommend as the food is really good. Kevin is fantastic and really hard working, he serves the bar on top of cooking all of the food in the kitchen for both people staying in the hotel and locals, which I found impressive. He also helped us with restaurant recommendations which was really kind of him. The only reason why I've rated the hotel 4 stars instead of 5 is because the safe in our room was broken and one of the receptionists was really rude and dismissive (we only saw her there once). My mom went down one evening as she had questions about allergens (in regards to the food in the fridge) and she was rude to her in response, she also mentioned that the cleaner had forgotten to give us fresh towels that evening, to which she responded "you'll have to re use the towels, just find the cleaner in the morning". We mentioned this to Maribel the next morning and she apologised and got us some towels from the cupboard straight away. Other than that experience, we had an enjoyable stay. (:

From checking in to checking out this is I think the most welcoming and laid back hotel I have ever visited anywhere in the world and I have travelled widely. All areas are spotlessly clean and the staff seem to take a genuine pride in making guests feel relaxed and comfortable. There has been a recent refurbishment which has brought the hotel up to a fresh modern standard which has a Scandinavian feel and look, The reception area and guest lounge with free self-service snack bar and drink facility are all open plan and tastefully decorated and airy with good lighting and modern Ikea style furniture. The hotel is perfectly located about a 12 minute stroll from the main Mahon downtown tourist hub around the old fish market and covered cloister market. There are lots of people watching cafes serving good coffees and beers/wines with tapas and other Minorcan specialities apart from the must visit fish market tapas bar itself, which has piled displays of virtually every kind of tapas imaginable. The main Mahon bus station is only a four minute walk up a side street next to the hotel which is an added bonus for cheap and easy travel around the island. The buses are up to date coach style and payment is made directly to the driver on board the bus. The fare for the longest journey from Mahon to Ciutadella on the far side of the island is 5.40 euros and takes a bit over an hour stopping at three central small towns on the way. The island is very geared up for cyclists and there seems to be a priority given to new cycleways both in Mahon and through the countryside and there is a cycle hire shop right next door to the hotel which seemed to have a steady flow of customers. This hotel would be perfect for anyone wanting an active hiking/biking base or just a quiet city type break for a stroll and a relaxing sight seeing visit.

Have just spent 9 days at this hotel. Upon arrival we were told our room wasn’t ready and we would receive a phone call telling us when it was. So we went for a walk around the local area whilst we waited. Having not received a phone call we returned to the hotel and eventually had to ask again if our room was ready- which it was but we hadn’t been told. Not a great first impression ( we had a 4 hour wait) . Our room (510) was a decent size, clean and with a good sized bathroom with a walk in shower. The shower was very temperamental but we put this down to being on the 5th floor so poor water pressure. Our view was looking out over a busy junction and other apartment buildings so not great because it was very noisy . The air conditioning didn’t work very well but that could be because it appeared an old system and the numbers had warn off the controls so you never quite knew what setting it was on!
The hotel itself is modern bright and clean and the green is an added bonus where you can help yourself to free drinks and snacks. Breakfast was good with a great choice but got very busy and we had to queu at the weekend for a table. The rooftop pool area is a little run down with repairs needed to the decking around the jacuzzi as it has rotted and there’s hazard tape on the floor, but it has amazing views of Mahon.
Over the weekend the hotel got very busy and we found a lot of the guests quite rude and we felt unwelcome. People used the steps at the front of the hotel as a smoking area blocking the exit and made it difficult to get in and out. They would try to walk through you to get in the lift rather than just waiting for you to step out. On our last day our transfer wasn’t until 17.30 but apart from storing our cases we weren’t given the option of using the hotel facilities until we left, basically we had to be out by 12. This is the first time I’ve stopped anywhere where you can’t even relax round the pool until you leave.

Unfortunately we found the area of Mahon not for us , there was a constant smell from the drains as you walked around- very unpleasant.. And due to siesta time a lot of places are closed during the day so there’s not much to do . It’s worth a walk down through the old town exploring the back streets and the buildings are beautiful but the main part of the resort is busy and full of overpriced shops .Overall this is not a destination where people seem to spend more than a few days.

I stayed in the apartments, which were very conveniently located, they were very clean and very spatious, especially the bathroom was very big. It had everything I needed really (minus working WiFi :)), a large and well-functioning fridge too, which was a nice surprise, as most rental apartments I've stayed in tend to have terrible fridges. The bathroom and amenities were very nice too, large rain shower with plenty of hot water, coulnd't fault it. Bed was nice and comfortable, plenty of plugs around in convenient locations, too.

My apartment was on the ground floor, which was convenient with the suitcase, but the view was not amazing, and the apartment was a little dark to my taste, but I can imagine when it's very hot outside that could actually be a big plus. I preferred to sleep with the window open, but there was a generator outside that made quite a bit of noise, so I ended up having to use my earplugs. Nothing too bad, though, all in all it was pretty quiet.

To check in, I had to go the hotel reception, which is open 24/7 (another big plus). Staff there was super friendly, thanks again for my pleasant stay ;)

There are many positives about this hotel and a couple of negatives. First of all, the location is good (central) and the building is modern and clean. There is the “green room” with drinks and snacks which is like a club floor but available to all guests. The hotel has some nice eco touches such as having a glass bottle in the room that can be refilled with water rather than using plastic.

For the downsides, we were given a double room which was two single beds pushed together which kept separating leaving a gap in the middle (not great for a married couple!) The room was warm because apparently they don’t turn the aircon on until later in the year (our visit was during a warm spell in April), so we slept with the window/door open, which led to mosquitoes entering the room.

We didn’t try the breakfast but across the road there is a nice bar with tasty sandwiches etc.

Overall, recommended and good value for money.

went specifically for festival and werent disappointed by Artiem Capri, from our first experience to last we couldnt fault it, the staff were polite, attentive and always helpful throughout, the hotel is very clean. Our room had everything we needed and cleaned regularly, breakfast selection is extensive, we never felt rushed. The green room concept was outstanding, all you were asked is to tidy up after yourself and place empties etc in a prescribed area. Situated on the edge of the centre but within comfortable walking distance, bus station 5 minutes away. Would we go back again ? without fail ! fantastic hotel

Well and newly equipped, clean and spacious room, great bathroom with an awesome shower.
Gorgeous breakfast with many things to choose from. Breakfast was slightly different each day and allowed hosts to try local food too. Definitely worth it!

On top of that hotel also provided 24/7 complimentary drinks at the lobby and also salads, sandwiches/tortillas, cakes, or even things like lasagna or chicken curry with rice in little glass pots to heat in a microwave in between 1pm and 6am.

Hotel staff was very kind and hotel location great, only a short walk from the main bus station in Mahón from which there is a direct connection to the Airport as well as to other parts of the Island.

Loved this hotel,it has everything you need and delivered so effortlessly by the friendly helpful staff, eco friendly, fab location, clean comfy rooms, excellent choice of buffet breakfast, loved my fresh made to order omelette.
It was so hot in August so really enjoyed the rooftop pool to cool off and with amazing views of Mahon. The location os so convenient, few minutes walk down to port, few minutes from bus station where we used the great bus service to explore the beautiful island. We loved the concept of the Green Room in the hotel, from 3pm you can help yourself to free snacks of salads, fruit, wraps, rolls, wine, beer juice, coffe and for spirits there is an honesty bar. A great place to relax. We also took advantage of the sister hotel the Artium Carlos in Es Castell 15 mins by bus, 40 min walk or taxi and for 15 euros each, you get towel, cocktail and relax all day by the beautiful swimming pool and jacuzzi with the best views. Just book at reception.
Can't wait to book again, well done to Artium Capri

We enjoyed the hotel and the service was really great. Mahon is a small town so it is recommended to rent a car at the airport. You only drive 40minutes to every must see location of the island. We visited Menorca in april, the weather was nice and there were not much tourist and that was great!
