I was with a party of 26 walkers staying at the hotel last weekend for 3 nights. We found the hotels rooms above average and my own was quite large with modern framed beds and comfy mattress. My only gripe was the tiny bath towels which were more like a large hand towel though I do believe this matter is...

We have just returned from a four night coach trip staying at this hotel. We found it very clean; the staff were brilliant, nothing too much trouble and very friendly. The serve yourself breakfasts were very good; eat what you want and the cooked food was always hot. The evening meals were very varied and nourishing after a day out,...

Hi Ray, Thank you for taking the time to review the Balavil Hotel, we appreciate your feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. We are a bit perplexed with your comments regarding our drink selection as we have a large and varied supply, with 70 different whiskeys, 12 different gins, 7 draft beer (including local cairngorm ale),...

We arrived to a warm welcome from the desk and after a very quick check in - well done, we were off to our ground floor family room. A lovely clean and well laid out room ( no 3) with a large walk in shower and a single and a double bed, we were offered dinner in the restaurant but...

Just spent 3 nights as part of a large group of walkers. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the food was lovely and the breakfast was exactly what I needed to start my day. The hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere. The room was clean a good size and comfortable. The bath !!!!!!! Quickest filling bath ever. It filled...

Overall the hotel was good. We had a good stay the mattresses could be much better. It was the springy type mattresses which I do not like. Apart from that the bathrooms were not that well renovated! However, overall I think it was a nice stay. Good quality breakfast!

My husband and I stayed overnight here recently. One positive thing was the bathroom had been updated. The other positive thing was the smile we received from the chambermaid when we passed her by. Unfortunately this was balanced by the less than friendly welcome we received which was repeated when we booked out. Certainly no smiles there. Another was was...

I am very sorry that you felt you did not receive a warm welcome or a friendly goodbye, this is something we pride ourselves on as we appreciate all our customers. our buffet breakfast should be regularly refreshed on arrival of new guests at breakfast and I can only apologise if this was not the case. This hotel was just a bit disappointing. The room was clean but noisy as we were right opposite the co-op, which had early deliveries; there was a lot of noise and shouting from the street on the Saturday night too. The breakfast was ok, not great, and the fruit salad came out of a tin rather than fresh fruit. The...

Very friendly hotel. Bar meals are home cooked, not extensive menu but plenty to choose from and a mini menu for we ones. The Balavil caters for veggie and gluten free easily. Not "pub co" food. Quiet area - no loud music!! Lovely thank you.
