The room was really nice with a brand new bathroom. The lounge has recently been redecorated and the dining room is in the process of being redecorated, and all looked good. The only small issue was the fact that the bed was really really squeeky, waking me up in the night, also the WiFi had a very limited range. The...

On arrival we were very early, however staff quickly sorted our room and allowed us to drop our stuff off. Lovely and warm room and exceptionally clean. Wifi is ridiculously intermittent to the point that I gave up, my teenage boys however were not impressed. We hired our ski gear from Ski Norwest based behind the hotel and they were...

Service at the hotel was top class by the young staff, can't fault them. The room was newly refurbished, nice, bright and clean. Although the temps were well below 0 the heating wasn't needed at night. Situated nice and central for skiing, walking and other outdoor pursuits including a ski company on site. Only gripe about the hotel is that...

We stayed here as part of a pre-booked short skiing holiday through Ski Norwest. We really enjoyed our stay. We are a family of 3 - and the room was large enough for us all. It was clean and tidy, well-presented, with plenty of storage room for all our ski stuff, and it was also nice and warm. The hotel...

Situated as it is in the Spey Valley, the hotel is situated in a superb central location for the winter resort of Cairngorm Mountain, which is just a few miles away. My wife and I visited for a two night winter break, hoping to see some great snowy scenery and we weren't disappointed! There is ample on site parking, friendly...

Returned in Jan (first visited in Nov) - another ITISON deal. Booked the same room - 45 - which was great. Freshly decorated with comfy bed. Work is still ongoing as the place is being renovated but this was never intrusive. Hotel was busier this time (skiing season) so this affected noise levels (downstairs neighbours were loud talkers who liked...

Recently stayed here with 30 friends. A very comfortable, clean hotel which has been recently refurbished. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, nothing too much trouble for them. The bedrooms are spacious and all ensuite. Food and service first class. Excellent value. The hotel is in a very scenic area with Aviemore and Cairngorms right on your doorstep, great...

This hotel has just been refurbished and is spotlessly clean and comfortable. It is an ideal location for skiing when the snow falls and as a Base for visitors driving out on sight seeing trips as the surrounding area is beautiful with it's mountains and lochs. U The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was very good with...

A very nice , comfortable, clean hotel with good sized rooms. No shortage of heating or hot water. All of the staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help with information or solving problems. The dining room was very light and airy and tables were always very attractively laid. The food was good and plentiful. The hotel...

All the staff have been extremely friendly and helpful throughout the long weekend stay. The food and the service have been excellent. I would thoroughly recommend the Highlander Hotel as a good base to go and visit some of the local attractions or activities.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
For true Highland hospitality come to the Highlander, a hotel renowned for its good food and warm welcome. The hotel is an ideal base for touring the North of Scotland with mountain ranges, forests, lochs and river valleys waiting to be explored. Wind down in our inviting restaurant serving an array of dishes made from locally sourced produce. Perhaps a wee dram from the bar would suit; choose a whisky from one of the many local distilleries for which this area is famous for throughout the world. ... more   less
