We stayed for a few nights, the room was comfortable but out of date. TV reception poor and no phone signal, no wi fi. The food was good and the service excellent, although we asked for ice cream instead of cream on the dessert and were refused!

What can I say about this hotel? It's a mixture of good and bad. It is a bit dated and sprawling but it is actually alright for a short stay. My room was large and had an updated new bathroom which was bright and clean. The room was on the ground floor and was simply too warm for comfort..also footsteps...

Shower inoperative because cold water to cool the scolding hot was not working. Cheap TV, poor picture & virtually no sound on some of the channels. Wallpaper peeling off the ceiling. We went for a family break at Christmas time. There were so many christmas decoration on display. It was really nice to see how much effort they had put into it. My 8 year old daughter loved all of it. The food was great and the rooms were a good size and very clean. The only bad point is the...

Wasn't expecting much to be honest. Pleasantly surprised. Food was good enough. Room was lovely. Staff were top notch. My only complaint was the shower pressure which was poor (a common theme I have read about in other reviews). Other than that can't grumble. Would most likely stay there again on my next visit to Newtonmore

Stayed overnight in a family room. Evening meal wasn't restaurant quality but maybe we made a bad choice or were unlucky. Rooms were large enough and we had a decent sleep. Decor is a bit outdated though but can't claim for the money really. We may consider going back again...

This visit was as part of a coach holiday. On arrival a member of staff came onto the coach to welcome us and inform us of our room number. Keys were already in the room doors. Our rooms were in the two-storey block adjacent to reception. There is no lift, but due to the design you enter the block midway...

Stayed for 2 nights with our 2 kids on an ITISON voucher deal, which was fantastic value for money. Have read the previous reviews, and yes, the decor is a bit 80's tastic, so if you want the latest boutique hotel, its not for you - I quite liked it, reminded me of holidays when I was wee. The family...

For true Highland hospitality come to the Highlander, a hotel renowned for its good food and warm welcome. The hotel is an ideal base for touring the North of Scotland with mountain ranges, forests, lochs and river valleys waiting to be explored. Wind down in our inviting restaurant serving an array of dishes made from locally sourced produce.
