Stayed there over New Years. Was absolutely perfect- great location, great spot, great facilities. Very relaxing, tranquil and perfect with a little toddler as well. Everything that we needed was provided and dealing with the owners was a breeze. Definitely recommend for people who want some time out from their busy lifes. Only suggestions, don't forget to book the breakfast...

Perfect private getaway a short walk from the beach. Great view of the ocean. Only 2 cabins so quiet. If both cabins are full privacy is an issue. It's a little out of town but has cooking facilities so come prepared.

A fantastic setting which is peaceful and relaxing. We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. The petanque court, hot tub, tracks through the garden and the marshmallow pit were all fantastic. We loved being able to relax here, watch the Tuis in the kowhai tree, walk to the beach and explore Punakaiki and visit Shantytown from here.

The two bedroom chalet was spotless and had everything you could need. The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was nice! We loved the quiet location with Bush and sea views. Even though the other one bedroom chalet was quite close, it still felt private.

After doing the Wilderness trail, we wanted a quiet place to relax before we headed home. I found the Hideaway online and booked the 1 bedroom villa. I was sent the details, including the code for the villa a couple of days in advance, luckily we arrived during the daylight. Finding it was pretty easy, and we liked that it's...

We stayed in the two bedroom cottage for a night. It's a well equipped, comfortable and clean accommodation. Great location, especially to visit the pancake rocks. Close to a beautiful quiet beach, literally 10 minutes walk from the cottage.

The best part were seeing the stars at night when clear skies. Otherwise, it's about 10min to punaikaiki, bit more for Greymouth. Nicer outlook than staying in greymouth , but not a lot to hold us there for long. The beaches were rough and not swimming weather. Rooms are a good size, no internet access. Large bathroom with shower. Reasonable...

Ocean View & Sound_2 clean, well-furnished cabins (1 & 2 bdrm w/ washer/dryer in 2 bdrm) located conveniently between Greymouth & Punakaiki, easy walk or drive to sandy beach & good swimming, tramping & surrounded by bush & sheep farm & National Forest & friendly & accommodating staff. Bring your own food. There's a small grocery nearby but very spartan....

We picked the Beach Hideaway for our honeymoon stay on the West Coast. We stayed two nights and learnt that one night is best due to no service. The cabin was beautiful and tidy. Not spotless but clean enough to be comfortable. The view is amazing and the sound of the sea really magical. The only two reasons our rating...

“To get to the beach, don't try to do this from the rear garden but instead walk down the path running along the right hand side as you look at it from the road. When this path turns right follow it to a fork which has over it a sign which says "The Council does not maintain this public road beyond this point". Choose the right fork (essentially this means carrying straight on) and after a short while this path turns left and heads directly to the sea. The path isn't particularly visible from the beach so if you are wandering up and down it (and who wouldn't?) make some sort of mark (maybe a piece of driftwood, or even scrape a large arrow in the sand) so you know where the path is when you wander back.”
