Just 1.7kms off the main highway to Wanaka we came across this oasis. What a find. Set amidst gardens and streams is Burn Cottage Retreat. We too stayed in Rascal Cottage for 3 nights last week, modern spotlessly clean with everything we could want. Even got to watch sheep shearing - not the pet ones too young yet. Interesting talks...

From the welcome message on the board at reception when we arrived, to the warm farewell when we left, Cecilia and Darryl make you feel at home. It was beyond compare. The grounds were immaculate! Gardens full of flowers and assorted fruit trees. Free use of the washing facilities, books, DVD's, and mountain bikes. The most playful Labrador is always...

We recently stayed at Burn Cottage for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay. The views from the Rascal Cottage are beautiful. We arrived in Spring and the baby lambs were just gorgeous. Cromwell and the surrounding Central Otago region is fantastic for those wine lovers. Cecilia and Darryl were fantastic hosts and we enjoyed their company and their beautiful,...

Hi Stephen. Thank you so much for your much appreciated review. We thoroughly enjoyed your company as well as the red wine sampling! Haha! The lambs are missing you both and didn't seem content with just our company after that! Hopefully we will see you back 'in our little piece of paradise' for a longer visit next time. Kindest Regards...

We stayed in Rascal Cottage for two nights and loved it. Beautiful garden setting, with spring blossoms surrounding our private deck and lambs in the adjoining paddock. The cottage was beautifully appointed - luxurious super king bed, nice bathroom and comfortable lounge/dining/kitchen. A lovely quiet, rural setting - and just 5 minutes drive from Cromwell township. Highly recommended.

Our stay here was one of the highlights of the South Island. Beautiful location, relaxed atmosphere with a modern and luxurious cottage. Cecilia and Darryn were exceptionally accommodating and their breakfast, from local produce was a welcome break from the take-out and cafe food we usually have whilst travelling. We'll be visiting again. - Jess & Phred

Thank you so much Jess and Phred for your very kind comments. We are delighted you enjoyed you stay with us and thank you for your help at lamb feeding time and alerting us to an escapee lamb during your stay! Gave Darryl a very good run around getting him back safely to mum - haha. We have another 'orphan'...

We stayed for 2 days at the Rascal Cottage and loved every second of it. The cottage is beautiful and extremely well appointed. Excellent appliances, great bathroom and kitchen, and extremely comfortable bed. Daryl and Cecilia are incredible hosts and very welcoming. They gave us a tour of the sheep farm and allowed my wife to feed them (a highlight)....

This was a real chance find for us.
