Our family of 5, including 3 teenagers, absolutely loved Hideaway Cove. Jordan and his staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Our cabins were very comfortable and well equipped, each with a nice front porch with magnificent views. The highlight was the day hike up to a glacier lake and then kayaking on the lake, guided by... More

Our first visit to Hideaway Cove was in 2012 and we stayed there again this June. Since the last visit, they have upgraded the cabins to have full bathrooms and added a very nice dock. But in saying that, we would have returned regardless. If you are looking for a true Alaskan experience, and love nature and all its wonders,... More

It's called a wilderness lodge for a reason- don't expect the Ritz. Having said that, I think I felt a bit manipulated to do the excursions THEY wanted me to do, when THEY wanted to do them. I must have asked SIX TIMES to do one excursion on their web site, and never got to do it. Food was good,... More

Hideaway Cove was the perfect vacation for my family. We enjoyed the experience of being in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The cabins were just perfect including a bathroom and a heater. We felt like we were in nature, yet were safe from any wildlife or cold temperatures. Jennie, Jordan and their sons were good hosts that... More

We did not stay at the lodge, but it looks great. We had an awesome hike/kayak trip with JJ, the owner of the lodge as our guide. One of his sons assisted us as well, and they did a great job. We were picked up by boat in the Homer harbor, transported across the bay to their Hideaway Cove wilderness... More

The cabins are simple, clean and comfortable. Ours was on the water - sitting on our deck we watched otters play and loons call. The view across the cove to Kachemak State Park is simply wonderful. Jordan, Jenny and the boys provide great food and friendly help as needed. Otherwise they leave you alone to enjoy the beauty and solitude... More

This was our first trip to Alaska. We are so glad we picked Hideaway Cove! The cabin was comfortable with a spectacular view of Halibut Cove and the mountains. Each cabin had running water, including hot water and flush toilets. There is no electricity in the cabins. You can charge electronics in the yurt. Read all of the information provided... More

Probably the best place I've stayed. Not much more to say. When we first got off the boat and stepped foot onto the meadow, I felt like I was in a fairytale or something. Everyone at the lodge was incredibly friendly and awesome. We took the hiking and kayaking tour to the glacier which was great also.

We did the 7 day national park package, and it was great. From being picked up at the harbour on day one to leaving, couldn't fault a thing, everything was so well organised. The hess family are so welcoming and friendly, and nothing seems to be too much trouble, all is done for you. The food is excellent and all... More
