The long dirt road to get there is well worth it. Cottages are roomy and well-equipped with nice views of the surroundings. Huge buffets in the central open-air lodge feature many types of cuisine. Our guide, Jeffrey Ansoon, friendly and knowledgeable, led us on several outings into the forest. The activities are somewhat programmed--walking certain trails, etc.-- but it doesn't...

In 2013 I was lucky enough to travel into Cuyabeno wildlife reserve and spent a week in the incredible rainforest. I was hooked on the jungle experience so Danum Valley was next on the list. After a little research it became clear to my girlfriend and I that our accommodation options were limited to just one place, the Borneo Rainforest...

Takes a long time to get here, but it is worth it. We did see wild Orang utans, but it's by no means guaranteed. The night walks are excellent, but the night drive was a waste of time and they don't allow flash photography which is sensible for mammals, but silly otherwise. First night food ran out, but response from...

This is a very special place. We stayed for four days and would have loved to stay for so much longer. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The meals were pretty good considering it's not a five star hotel in the middle of town. Soft drinks, tea and coffee were freely available at any time. The cabins were a...

Remote, surrounded by pristine rainforest, this place is a gem! So much to see and listen to, the birds, animals, butterflies and fungi are a delight for the eye and camera. Rooms are elegant, very comfortable, well tended - our delux unit came with a little lounge, balcony and spa and a great view of the river and forest opposite....

Tucked away deep in the conservation area of rainforest a 2 hour drive from 'civilisation', this lodge really is heaven - not just for the great wildlife spotting ( we saw 8 wild orang Utan) but for superb chalets and friendly service. We went for deluxe bungalows with a river view which were a perfect place to relax between the...

We stayed at Borneo Rainforest Lodge for two nights in May 2015, on a two night/ three day package. The lodge is in a fabulous location in the heart of primary rainforest and is maintained to a high standard. Our bedroom was very comfortable and had a ceiling fan but not air conditioning ( for environmental reasons). All meals are...

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our touring holiday in HK and Borneo. As someone who is an anxious traveller, the Journey from Lahad Datu was a big worry for me but I'm glad I didn't let that put me off coming here. We opted to pay a bit extra to get a guaranteed private 4x4 transfer...

After a bumpy ride we arrived at this beautiful lodge in the heart of the rainforest. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious with comfortable beds. But remember you are in the middle of the forest, so it was still very humid. The dining room had a wonderful aspect over the river and the forest beyond and provided...

This whole adventure and lodge was amazing, when it is some 70kms into the jungle, but excellent standard. We booked 3 day, 2 night package, after having also done tour on Danum Valley. Our trekking experiences were just fantastic, especially as our guide, Azmil, was so terrific. As we were keen and eager, we saw almost everything we wanted, except...
