We checked in as a party of 4, we called ahead to make sure it was fine that we check in early as we had a wedding to attend on the 02/07/2016, the lady at reception said it was fine so we checked in around 11 or so. When we got there they gave us 2 separate cottages with 2... More

Two night stay on a Riviera Tour. Ideal as the name suggests to see the Boer War and Zulu battlefield sites. We stayed in room 13. Has a small kitchen area with a sink and microwave. Room adequate for a short stay although main room light was very dim and the bedside lights were therefore essential. Bed was very comfortable... More

Stayed here for two nights as part of inclusive trip to S.A. The hotel is very well placed for visiting the Zulu battlefields. The room was large and the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was a little bit scruffy no bath just a shower. Because we were in a large party are meals were all buffet, the food was quite... More

Well situated to get around to see the various battlefield sites in the area. Well kept and very neat lodge with comfortable rooms and good views of the mountains. Had a good supper at the local restaurant with food was very good and freshly prepared.

So tranquil and serene, lives one in touch with his/her inner chi. Hidden jewel in the Umzinyathi district. The bucks and zebra roam freely making it a little Garden Of Eden nestled against a background of rolling green hills. Simple but wonderful create your own ala carte menu.

The Battlefields Lodge is quite adequate a stay fif one is wanting to view the battlefields. It's affordable and clean but very basic. Situated close to the battlefields so I would advise one to stay here if one is going to the battlefields.

Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. A suggestion would be to have milk for tea drinkers and not only creamer and mugs and teacups. The red meat and liver on two separate occasions was tough but the chicken tasty and cauliflower soup very good.

We enjoyed a peaceful sleepover at Battlefields after a very long drive and a hectic day. The place is so quite, we went to bed at 20:00 and woke up in the morning without any disturbances. Also appreciated the checkout time of 11:00 as it meant waking up at reasonable time.

We had an enjoyable 2 nights stay. Spacious room, lovely grounds with Zebra, Ostrich, Springbok etc. The buffet dinners did not have an extensive choice, but the food was tasty and well cooked. Very good value for money in our view.

In an area with not too many options, the Battlefields Lodge is a comfortable, clean and adequate place in which to stay - and has wifi. Secure facility in a farming area, easy to access. Food is generally average, mostly buffets, no menu options. At least there is now a coffee/capuccino machine in the main restaurant. The conference facility is... More
