it was a nightmare, worst day in Sri Lanka. We booked 2months before arriving, they took the money from account 2 days before we arrived...and we had booked to stay during new years eve (as you can imagine almost everything was fully book). when we arrived (3couples and 2kids) they told us they dont work with agoda or booking anymore...

I write this with very mixed feelings as for myself and my girlfriend we have a really uncomfortable stay here, however other guests seemed content. We paid around £50 a night (personally I thought was quite a lot of money as £50 a night can generally get you a decent night stay in any city in the world and we...

We booked 2 nights at banana garden today over nye through Agoda. We arrived in Unawatuna the night before and stayed at a lovely, cheap guest house at the Rhee end of the beach - Ammas, which we'd really recommend if you're on a budget. We walked along the beach to banana garden to check in only to be told...

I see this a little over priced for the services offered and given that there are many other options to choose from. There was no towels in the room, no soap, the room was build right above a sewage water way which connects to the sea, and there was absolutely no view of the sea from the room. A little...

The pension is perfectly located right on the wonderful beach! The food is nice. The host is very, very friendly and helpful specially Chamara! Best guy we've met so far on Sri Lanka. The room is ok, little bit dirty and older than is on the pictures but still we will recommend this place to stay.

Just at the South end of the beach, you can see the whole bay, esp. from the higher rooms. We were in room 1, right at the top. Good bed, large clean room, air, fridge & balcony with tip top views. Lovely staff, and surprisingly good food as we were so far down the beach. Very clean. (sorry about the...

We dropped in at this hotel/restaurant for a break during a daily excursion to Galle. This is an open-air restaurant just in front of a small beach. We ordered a seafood fried rice, which was quite tasty. Price was also okay. Parking, however, would be a problem since the hotel/restaurant has a limited space.

Banana Garden is a great option if you're looking for an affordable stay - the price we paid for came with breakfast and dinner! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good and came in big serving - not a lot of beer options though. Located at the quiet end of Unawatuna beach, so it's great if you just...
