We stayed a couple of days in Village Inn and we had a good time. The owners are so helpful and kind they will make you feel like at home. So close from the beach and from the center of the village. You can fall asleep every night listening to nature sounds such as monkeys, exotic birds, squirrels.. so nice...

Very good budget option in Unawatuna. Clean rooms with balcony space, and a very friendly family who ran it. Fireflies flit around in the gorgeous greenness of the place every night, plus you're only a 2 minute walk from the beach!

Please don't stay here. I have one good thing to say about the place: it looks quite good from outside. The rest, horrendous... We found this place through our tuk tuk driver from Mirissa. He showed us the place mid-afternoon and all looked in order - rustic but nice. We like places that are more traditional than modern, so rustic...

It cost 1200Rs p/n and I wouldn't spend a penny more, I share the same experience as the person who wrote about the toilet paper, we asked for some, and got told to go buy some, never had this from any place where we have stayed before, and we have stopped in 194 hotels/guesthouse all over East Asia. The second...

Stayed here for two nights and it is lovely. The family are so nice and helpful, and make great banana pancakes! The rooms are good for the price and close to the beach, without being too noisy. Great powerful shower

This is a lovely place to stay. Close to the beach but so quiet and peaceful. We loved waking up and seeing the colourful birds, monkeys, wildlife etc from our balcony. Very pretty place. Good price too, the owners are very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is great. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends....

hi everyone, We stayed at Village Inn in Unawatuna in July 2014. The place is 100 meters in the back of the main road which makes it a very quiet place and almost a jungle experience. The hotel is surrounded by the jungle and monkeys, huge peacocks, tiny squirrels and birds are everywhere. On the first floor where we stayed,...

As a seasoned budget traveller I can truly say that this is one of the worst places I've ever stayed. I don't expect luxury, but this place was horrendous. The first problem was that they quoted me one price on the phone, and then when I arrived told me that it was more expensive as the cheap rooms were taken....

We stopped here because it was recommended in the lonely planet as being 'as clean as a whistle' and this couldn't be further from the truth. It's really dusty and has lots of dead bugs lying or hanging around in cobwebs and the bathrooms are even worse! The drains smell and I really shouldn't have taken a look under the...

Lovely place set in a beautiful garden two minutes walk from the beach. You will be well looked after here by a great family. Food is good and one of the cheaper places to eat in Unawatuna. This is in the budget range so don't expect luxury. Comfortable rooms with fans and nets. Only complaint was that bathrooms could be...
