This place is at the top of a steep hill, so if you are walking it's a way up. My room was spacious, had a fridge, plenty of power points. Bathroom has a hair dryer. Water is freezing, it may have already been used by others staying there. Bathroom is a bit grubby and cleaners don't replace toilet rolls. They... More

Great locally family owned hotel. I stayed in room 11 and it was clean, well cared for and the beds were comfortable. It's also just up the hill from central de Saint Elena, which I like because it's quiet and peaceful. The price was reasonable and included breakfast and wifi.

I loved this hotel! It is set apart from the center of town which provides a calm atmosphere to relax and explore. It also adds the benefit of allowing you to be the last picked up and the first dropped off when taking shuttle buses for tours. I found this absolutely wonderful because you didn't have extra wasted time in... More

I loved this quaint place. It was very unique and on top of the hill with great view of Monteverde! Staff was amazing and friendly! Breakfast was very good and we felt very welcome! I especially like sitting out on the veranda in the rocking chairs enjoying the fresh air and looking at the view!

When we made our reservations on-line we were initially concerned by any hotel named "Don Taco." In fact, Hotel Don Taco is a great find. It is clean, simple, and well-located. It is family-run by great people. They helped reserve numerous trips. My kids loved it. We would unquestionably stay at Hotel Don Taco again. The rooms are simple and... More

I stayed here with Tucan Travel and I liked the place... despite the fact it's up quite a sharp hill which was a bit of effort to get up after a few drinks in town! It;s about a 5 minute walk down the hill to the main town. Beds were comfy and there were rocking chairs outside the rooms which... More

Great view of the mountains from the large windows in the room. Relaxing place to stay. It was really nice to open the big windows and enjoy the fresh, mountain air. Quiet part of town, but only a 3 minute walk to the main part of "town".

It is located around 15 minutes walking from the center. We had a cabin with a big balcony and a spectacular view. It is a big room with a big bathroom. It is not new. The furniture and room is old. Windows are old with a lot of gap so many insects enter the room. The bed is not comfortable.... More

Loved this hotel. The hotel was a little away from the center of town, however this meant we were usually the last to get picked up to go on tours and first to get dropped off when returning from a tour. Which in my opinion was way more important than having to walk a short walk into town. The hotel... More

The family that runs the hotel are so nice and helpful that it makes up for whatever few flaws there are. Place is nice and clean and the rooms has fridges. Only bad thing is that you can't flush paper in the toilet (as with many places in Costa Rica) but the bins they have doesn't have a lid
