Feeling more than welcome in Camino's hostel bed & breakfast. The staff (Jose) helped us planning and coordinating various outdoor activities. After staying four nights I strongly recommend this hostel for their staff, breakfast and atmosphere! I could have not ask for a better place to stay in Monteverde! The only downside is that the walls are thin, so you...

The place itself is pretty nice and clean. There was no ventilation though, so our room stank. The host was unserious and unproffesional. He had abseloutely no energy and his attitude made you want to leave. The cleaning ladies were sweethearts though.

We didn't stay at this Bed and Breakfast, we simply used the shuttle service to get to the Jeep Boat Jeep Tour from Monteverde to Arenal. I lost my camera somewhere along the way but didn't realize it until I was on the boat in the middle of the lake. The guide from Aventuras El Lago on the boat from...

Although I wasn't really thrilled with the room and the bed was very hard, the hotel has a great location and the views are breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious and it was nice that there was coffee and tea available throughout the day and free Wifi. Booking tours was also very easy to do with Jose in the office. Overall we...

I stayed here in December and I really loved the set-up of the B&B not to mention the view from my room. It seemed so cozy and tucked away up in the hills and was conveniently located next to some outstanding restaurants. Unfortunately I booked a room for the wrong date prior to my visit and was unable to get...

Jose Retana's help with booking tours in Monteverde was superb. A welcoming, caring friend. Our room was cozy and convenient to restaurants and shopping. The breakfasts got us off on the right foot each day. Loved the fresh fruit and coffee.

There's nothing I can say bad about this hostel. The private rooms were wood paneled, comfy, and clean. All hotel areas were clean. The grounds are nice with pretty plants and flowers. The host Jose helped with any tour bookings we wanted. He also made sure we got on our transportation at the right time. The included breakfast has many...

Jose Retana was very helpful and kind, and helped me make travel arrangements (such as shuttle reservations). The hotel has a friendly atmosphere (guests are allowed to use the kitchen, for instance).

Highly recommend Camino Verde to anyone who is in Monteverde. The guys at Camino will not only make you feel welcome but they'll make you feel like family. Check out the zip line tours and the tree hike. You wont regret it!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Camino Verde B&B is a "Bed and Breakfast" style lodging opened in 2009 and located on the edge of Santa Elena. The B&B is laid out in the style of a family house and guests are encouraged to treat it as their home. The building was in fact once the owner's family home which gave inspiration to this 'Tica House' designed hotel. The B&B is situated a 5 minute walk from the town centre of Santa Elena, but is far enough away for it to be quiet and have more rural surroundings. This is the perfect option for those who crave the quiet side of the countryside but who require the amenities provided in a town. FACILITIES: Camino Verde B&B comprises private rooms which sleep 2 to 4 guests. Four of the rooms have shared bathroom facilities and the rest are en suite. ... more   less
