The room was large and spacious, with a good view of the forest. There was plenty of hot water and the shower worked well. The hotel is rather dated and the dining room rather functional and unwelcoming and we were disappointed in the breakfasts we had,the food was unattractive and choice limited, the fruit being really nice, although the service was good. The staff at the...

The grounds are beautiful, and we had a lovely view out of our window. There were also good ceiling lights in the room. There was a very large tub, and the shower was strong. We were in a building down a hill and across mud and grit from the main building. This required either hauling our bags up a significant...

Hotel Montana Monteverde, as previously reviewed, is certainly dated and well used. However, this hotel is very clean and quiet. It is perfectly situated if you are heading to any of the major attractions in the local area. All the staff have been outstanding - from the desk clerk who checked us in three hours early upon our arrival to...

We arrived on 30 Dec and the reception lady was very welcoming. We took our luggage to our Superior room which I am going to start with a positive - had an amazing view of the rain forest. That is the highlight of the room. The hotel got built in the 1970s, and looking at the hotel reception, breakfast room...

Highly individual hotel - with more of a family touch. Staff were really helpful - they went all out to find us a guide at the last minute (for Christmas Day!). And got us booked with a great and very expert guy (Three Brothers) who scored us a great encounter with a troupe of capuchins as they travelled overhead. Breakfast...

The room had a view that was overlooking the mountains that was absolutely amazing. One evening it was raining but that created an even more outstanding views because with the rain and heavy wind, it gave an appearance of a curtain of horizontal rain curtain. The hotel was in walking distance to many tourist attractions and great soda food locations....

The hotel is located on main road, but has beautiful views over the valley toward the Pacific Ocean – when not covered by clouds. Also cozy bar with a great view. No AC but not necessary at this altitude. Rooms have nice balconies with views, and sliding screen doors for ample ventilation. Unfortunately, not conducive to walking on nearby narrow...

This was a nice place with great view of a Monteverde valley. We could look off our porch and see a horse or cow grazing in the valley. The hotel staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and had good suggestions about which area activities we may be interested in. One negative was the neighbor dogs that would bark at any time during...

Very good hotel. Rooms lovely size, clean and great views from the balcony. Breakfasts were traditional Costa Rican but were set so not as good as others. Hummingbirds on balcony of restaurant and beautiful views. No swimming pool but still a good hotel.
