My wife and I stayed in the simplest room but despite the low cost, the room was extremely clean and comfortable with a breath-taking view to wake to each morning. The cloud forest setting was so relaxing but still a conveniently short distance from the town and leisure activities. Christian was a god send, with great tips, recommendations, and even...

My husband and I, our 2 teenage boys and my mother stayed in Costa Rica for 24 days. The Rainbow Valley Lodge was hands down our favorite place. - And everywhere in Costa Rica that we visited was fantastic! Christian Porras and his lovely wife go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. They called our...

We came to rainbow lodge not sure what to expect being that the room was so cheap, 35 for the night(ended up being lower though due to discounts when you book activities through the hotel;). However we were pleasantly surprised to find our room had a beautiful view of the lush green cloud forest, and was very spacious. The bed...

Rolf was most helpful in planning my trip to Costa Rica. He is full of information and very responsive to all my emails. If you never been to Costa Rica, you will soon find out how expensive transports really are. I would recommend arranging all your transports and tours through Rolf. He can get you the best prices because he...

We truly enjoyed our stay at Rainbow Valley Lodge. Our friends stayed in the lower room and we stayed in the cabin. Both were very well-equipped. This lodge was in the perfect location-- far enough away from the noise but still close enough to the reserves and restaurants. Rolf was very helpful and has done a wonderful job with this...

It was very neat staying in the jungle/rain forest. It did indeed rain quite a bit but we had a great view from the lodge and a large porch on which to sit. We appreciated plenty of lights inside (we are readers!) and the shelves so we could unpack a bit. There were also plenty of bathrooms and sinks, which...

I will keep this short since every other review has spelled out the charms of this place. Our family stayed in the cabin in June 2013. It is roomy for 4, has a well stocked kitchen, and Christian (who runs the place) is fantastic. It is in a great location a short bit our of Santa Elena. Christian will have...

Rainbow Valley Lodge is by far the best hotel I've stayed at in Monteverde. The lodge only has 3 rooms which adds to the private setting. My husband and I stayed in the upper room that had an excellent view of the valley and made it all the more interesting when a group of white faced monkeys came to visit...

We stayed in the cabin for 2 nights. It was a very charming and large space. It had it's own kitchen with fridge and 2 burner "camping style" stove. The table was a great piece of carved wood supported by a tree trunk. It has it's own patio with muskoka chiars that over look the forest. The cabins sit down...

The cabin we stayed in was very clean and comfortable, it was great for our family as there was a separate bedroom and 2 beds in the main living area for the kids. The coatis came right up to our porch on the last day of our stay, which my kids loved. Rolf went out of his way to help...
