Having just returned from a week long stay at La Royante we can highly recommend it! The beautiful old country house is full of character and history and even has it's own chapel. We stayed in the St. Catherine room which has it's own terrace for sitting out and enjoying the beautifully kept gardens and grounds which include a very pretty swimming pool area, koi carp pond and olive grove. From our room we had access to a well equiped kitchen with use of fridge, oven, cutlery, crockery, a Nespresso machine and selection of teas and coffee capsules. Last, but most certainly not least, were Sophie and André, our charming and gracious hosts, very knowledgeable and helpful about the local area, and we wholeheartedly agree with Andy H that Sophie's breakfasts are divine! Wonderful x
Enjoyed La Royante with friends for a week-end, and the break was absolutely delightful. Sophie and André are wonderful caring hosts and produce their best effort to make the stay unforgettable. The view from the "Calanques de Cassis" (15 minutes away) where we picknicked after a good walk is also something to see in a lifetime. Overall a magnificent experience!!
J'ai eu la chance de rendre visite a Andre et Sophie dans leur bastide et j'ai non seulement retrouver des amis chers et découvert un lieu de charme qui invite a la retraite spirituelle Not only the location et the house is beautiful, but you will also be able to travel through the 18th century. Do not miss the chapel, which invites you to connect with your innerself and feel a rush of calm and happiness
We really loved our 3 night stay at La Royante. It is a perfect quiet haven in the midst of a busy trip across the south of France. Our room was spacious, and comfortable, with its own en-suite chapel. Not many places can boast that! The grounds were beautiful and quiet, with a fine pool to relax by at the end of the afternoon. But the best thing of all was Sophie's breakfast each morning on the terrace - fabulous food, served exquisitely in beautiful surroundings in the early morning sunshine. I have never, and I mean never, had a better breakfast. Sophie and Andre were fabulous hosts. This is a wonderful place to escape to, and it will really add something very special to your holiday in Provence.
Just the perfect place for a refreshing break away from the big city (London in our case): stunning and so spacious that it really is a little haven of peace. To top it up, André and Sophie are ideal hosts, with that perfect mix of local culture and international travel, and a great sense of humor too. Highly recommended.
