We stay at Il Tiglio for just a couple of nights, and we felt immediately at home but with a level of comfort, cleanliness, and attention to detail that it's very difficult to find nowadays. The owner Mario is a fantastic host, willing to go the extra mile to help, give recommendations, and make you feel taken care of. A special mention goes to the breakfast: everything homemade, from the pastries to juices to the awesome jams,! This was a treat that we will never forget!

This is my second stay at il Tiglio in the 3 years. Mario is still the same gracious and lovely man. His English is perfect. Massimo’s morning desserts are just as delicious as I remembered them. The hotel should have a walking score of 100 since EVERYTHING is a short walk from the hotel. Our room was spacious. Lots of food options in the area. The main piazza is about a 3-5 minute walk. We can’t wait to return :)

We stayed here as a family of four between Christmas and new year - and had an excellent time! The room was spotless, breakfast was great (loved Massimo's home made cake) and both Mario and Massimo helped us with any issues we wanted to sort out. Their passion and dedication completely shines through. The hotel is centrally located, with numerous restaurants within a short walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will definitely return.

Had a wonderful four night stay here last week. Can't say enough about owners Mario & Massimo. They are wonderful hosts providing information on restaurants, shopping, day trips etc. Breakfast is amazing w/ a variety of homemade pastries, jams, eggs, freshly squeezed juice and more. Our room and bath were immaculate - nicely appointed, and roomy. We hope to return to this lovely town and of course, this wonderful hotel. Grazie Mario e Massimo.

Just returned from a week in Castel di Sangro! Mario and Massimo from Il Tiglio are the perfect hosts, hotel is beautiful, centrally located, immaculately clean... breakfast is an experience of genuine homemade pastries and jams... will surely recommend! After the hustle and bustle of the big citiies, the Il Tigilio was just the ticket for a relaxing 2 days in the area. Mario is the most gracious host. Who was very helpful from restaurant advise to assisting in visiting the local surrounding towns.And Massimo a wonderful baker. Our stay in Castel di Sangro was most memorable.

Our three-night stay at Hotel Il Tiglio made our stay in Castel di Sangro extra special. Mario is the most gracious host and became an extension of my family who lives across the street. :-) His establishment is impeccable. The room and bathroom were spotless, and the bed was firm and comfortable. And, the breakfast! Massimo's creations are divine, the coffee is superb, and the ginseng coffee is magical. We bought six jars of Massimo's marmellata for friends and family, which are now scattered across the U.S. We can't wait until our next visit!

Mario, the receptionist, was very cordial. Our rooms were very plain, but clean. We parked our car on the street in front. The WiFi worked well. The city piazza is a few blocks away, and the walking path by the river not far away. Breakfast was very nice.

One of the best little charming hotels ever! Very clean, spacious rooms, heated and super hospitality! Mario is more than helpful! Massimo is a great pastry chef! Felt at home! Stayed at Il Tiglio for 6 nights with friends and had a fantastic time. We were given a very warm welcome by Mario who went over and above to make our stay most enjoyable. He suggested and booked different restaurants for us every evening and all were great. Great choice at breakfast and fresh and delicious baking every morning by Massimo. Rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable with everything provided that you would expect and a balcony. Skiing was superb and Il Tiglio is centrally situated in the nice town of Castel di Sangro with plenty of bars and restaurants close by. Headed off to Rome for a few days after with some restaurant recommendations from Mario. Would very highly recommend.
