This hotel overlooks a large lake, It has a huge parking area and a huge reception area. The only draw back is there is no airconditioning and the room was very hot. But with the windows open and an antimosquito plug in we slept well. The beds were slightly too hard for us. Breakfast was minimal.

A relaxing atmosphere located in an idyllic valley, excellent for retreats, outdoor activities. This area of Italy is still relatively unspoilt with towering mountains and breathtaking views all over.

Located next to a small lake with view of mountains. Large rooms with Italian decor. Warm & friendly staff. I would recommend this Hotel and would definitely come back. There is an attached restaurant where we ate as a large group with 40 or so people. Amazing service and food.

Three years ago we skiied in the Abruzzo mountains at February half term. Just 20 mins drive from the slopes we were at Don Luis hotel where we were made to feel so welcome, and treated to authentic local food and hospitality. Amazing value for money and real quality food and wine included in the package has ensured that we have returned with friends each subsequent year. Generous aprez-ski cakes and wines were provided upon our return from the ski slopes each day, by the family owners and friendly staff.

The staff was courteous and welcoming. I asked a steam iron and instead the lady at the desk ironed my shirt for me. My room was huge and nicely decorated. Beakfast was wonderful. There was a group of soccer players at the hotel and they were extremely well-behaved. And finally, the rates were incredibly reasonable. Staying at Hotel Don Luis enhanced my trip!

Great family run hotel. We found everyone very friendly and helpful. We found the breakfast quantity and variety plentiful always get what you expect but its all part of travelling. The lake view from the room was amazing.

We received a warm welcome here. It is a nice hotel though the setting is not as impressive as the clever photography suggests! The triple room was comfortable and spacious. The attached restaurant was excellent. Good value and surprisingly good quality. We were so impressed the first night that we were looking forward to eating there again on the Saturday and were devastated to fingd it closed for a private function! It would have been nice to be pre-warned! Anyway a good hotel a short drive away from the slopes. We would return.

I've been two times in this hotel during my moto-tour in Italy. It is a really clean and new hotel. Rooms are lovely decorated. People are very nce and. I suggest it to people who are searching for something different and cheap.

We stayed in the Don Louis hotel on a half board basis for easy access to the ski slopes in Roccorasso, the hotel had very large clean rooms, a balcony overlooking the lake outside and excellent bathrooms facilities. The staff were incredibly helpful, the hotel has wireless however we didn't have a laptop with us, so when we needed to book a hotel in Rome they allowed us to use the PC behind the reception desk for free and gave us good advice on where to stay. When it snowed heavily the staff drove into town with us to a local garage to help us buy some snow chains as our language skills wern't really sufficient. We were staying on a half board basis and dinner was excellent and generally had four or five courses and came with a caraffe of wine - I think we all put on about a stone! The hotel is only a three minute walk into the historic town of Castel di Sangro which is stunning, and I far prefered staying in a small village and spending 20 minutes driving up the mountain each day rather than staying in Rocarasso which was all ski apartments. We stayed here after reading about the area in the travel section of a national (non tabloid) newspaper. And discovered that the local region was offering airport transfers from Pescarra, half board accomodation in a local hotel, and ski passess as well as a lift up the mountain each day for around 320 euros. This turned out to be incredible value.…
