Welcome to Hotel Riviera… Welcome to Carloforte a picturesque town on the unique Isola di San Pietro, “an island within an island”, an oasis of peace and beauty, a natural treasure only 20 minutes away by ferry from the south-west coast of charming Sardinia. Carloforte, with its deep cultural roots, represents an important phase in the history of Sardinia’s colonization.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We stayed at this property for two nights and had a great time. The hotel is located in a strategic position to visit the center of Carloforte on foot and to be able to easily move by car to reach the beaches (there is a large parking lot right in front). The rooms are spacious and well-kept and breakfast, plentiful and varied, can be enjoyed on a lovely terrace overlooking the harbor. An added value is undoubtedly represented by the kindness of the staff, in particular the young girl with fair and wavy hair who takes care of breakfasts, very kind and always smiling. We will be back soon.

We stayed for a weekend in September. A large hotel with a beautiful view, bright and modern. Located on the port, it immediately stands out from the houses that are close to it. You can arrive on foot, as you disembark from the ferry or if you want, by car. It has its own parking spaces in front of the entrance. The room they gave us was large and bright, as can be seen from the photos, and was equipped with all comforts. WIFI, mini bar, air conditioning, safe, hairdryer, terrace. The breakfast was plentiful, as you can see from the photos, they are well organized for intolerances and allergies, with specific products and they are very kind and helpful. The reception is kind enough to give all the information such as the coolest restaurants, the most beautiful beaches, breakfast times and the bar. The waiters and the barman are the same ones we find at breakfast and they pamper us in finding the right balance, the location has a large terrace, half covered and the other open, it's a spectacle, you can see the whole lagoon and the port both at sunrise and sunset, having breakfast or sipping an aperitif. Prices are average for the month we stayed, the hotel is a 4 star. Overall a very good rating, definitely worth returning with family or friends.

My partner, my 3 year old daughter, and I stayed there at the end of August. We stayed in a superior triple. The room was spotless and very spacious. The buffet breakfast was excellent, served on the panoramic terrace, where we also had some aperitifs. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and very patient with the little girl. Only note: in a hotel of this level it would be useful for a kettle to be placed in the rooms, or, alternatively, a station with a microwave oven on each floor (we had difficulty heating the baby's milk before going to sleep) .

We travelled as a couple and got a deluxe room, which has a nice marina view. The hotel is well positioned; it is close to city centre, bar and restaurants.
Breakfast was served in a beautiful roof terrace, but the breakfast itself was pretty poor and limited. The only local products were a couple of cakes, natural yoghurt and 1 Sardinian cheese. They also had scramble eggs and bacon, which looked and tasted bad. Flavoured yoghurts were high street supermarket branded (conad). Breakfast also included a few cakes and cured meat which I did not try, and also cereals and cheap nuts. On the other hand, breakfast staff were very helpful and attentive. I'd give this breakfast a 3 out of 10.
Our deluxe room was nice and luminous, and looked clean, but it was also a little dated. Stains could be seen pretty much everywhere in the room. Table tops were stained, same as shower floor and wc.
On my first evening, I requested an iron, but the reception refused to help me as, according to the receptionist, that was not a service that they provide. I then had to go downstairs to the reception to personally ask for an iron or any other solution. It is just after a heated argument that the reception eventually phoned the manager, who made us aware that there was a washing and ironing room service, which I could benefit from...the next day. In other words, they did not help me and left me wondering if I had to stick an iron into my trolley. I must give 0 marks for effort and customer service on this one. Being a leisure and work world traveller, I had never had an iron request rejected, not even in much lower starred hotels. I felt like a lemon to squeeze, as I presumed that they just wanted me to pay for the ironing service (which I eventually did), but they had no interest to help me when I actually needed. In my humble opinion, hotel stars are useless if the hotel is unable to accommodate or at least manage such simple requests. When I travel, regardless of hotel stars, I like when I feel taken care of, as that is what makes the difference in a good hotel, but this is very far from my experience at Lu hotel riviera.
The hotel has 44 rooms and about 6 driveway parkings + 2 disable parking, so do they really have a car park where I can park my car? The hotel parking was an important aspect which led me to choose Lu hotel Riviera over its competitors, but the bitter reality is that the hotel parking was pretty much always busy and I had to park in the public car park in front of the hotel.
We eventually had a good 3 days break in Carloforte. I would NOT recommend Lu Hotel Riviera. I know that Carloforte does not have many hotel options, but try the competitors if you can as this is below average.

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Carloforte. The luxury suite is undoubtedly good, both for its size and for the large terrace which offers a beautiful view of the port/seafront. In addition to breakfast (complete and including local products), on the restaurant floor it is possible to have an evening aperitif on the large terrace. It is preferable to ask for rooms with a sea view to enjoy the open view, because it also has rooms overlooking the alley to the side. The staff is courteous. The good time to visit these places is early summer (June/first days of July), because the island of S. Pietro has pretty, rather small beaches (very few are equipped) which would not be as liveable, much less enjoyable, at high altitude. season.

Hotel in the center of Carloforte, I would say a nice experience. Quiet room, I slept really well. Great room with everything. Negative note room not spotless as one would like .. (some Hair found here and there just arrived sand on the ground) Breakfast: I would say spectacular on the top floor overlooking the sea with many good things to eat (walnuts, chocalto, various types of yogurt, fresh fruit cakes!!! Recommendation the hotel.

We stayed here because of a wedding and therefore taking advantage of the "discount" reserved for spouses and relatives... After evaluating the cost of the discounted room we decided to book for the third night elsewhere because we were missing full price elsewhere.....MAH... Expectations were high given the great reviews read... nice and spacious room! Bathtub with whirlpool not working... and not hot water. We brought it back to reception but apparently it was a common problem because the temperature was low everywhere... maybe still set for the summer. The staff of the bar a bit 'too rigid ... we asked to join two tables to have an aperitif and it seemed that we were asking to set up the whole room ... little available to their detriment because with more availability we would have taken even more drinks and instead we preferred to go out and go elsewhere. The kettle for herbal teas was dirty inside. It wasn't exactly hygienic to boil something in it. I would highly recommend taking a look...
In short, well but not very well... for the price paid would not return.

I stayed last week for three nights, booking a deluxe room. The room is spacious and very bright, with a sea view, the bathroom is also good. Furthermore, on the top floor there is a beautiful panoramic terrace, where you can have breakfast and is open until the evening. The location is excellent, close to the embarkations and central to the town. The staff extremely kind and helpful.
