The Hotel Lido degli Spagnoli is a 4 star only steps from the sea and from the beach of Portopaglietto. Portopaglietto is the beautiful beach of the city of Portoscuso. It has a small sandy shore characterised by crystalline sea and fine, amber-coloured sand and it is enclosed by two cliffs that shelter it on days with northwest wind. The Tower of Portoscuso stands prominently at the side of the small bay. The Lido degli Spagnoli is easy to reach with all forms of transport and it looks out onto the island of San Pietro, enjoying a strategic location in relation to the main resorts and most beautiful attractions of the south of Sardinia. The Hotel Lido degli Spagnoli is equipped with all the comforts that guests can expect in a 4 star hotel. It has a large and well-equipped conference room, an elegant swimming pool, a restaurant with sea view, a magnificent free beach very close by and a wellness centre with panoramic views.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

Hotel Lido degli Spagnoli has garnered commendation for its cleanliness and the comfortable atmosphere it offers, complete with charming albeit slightly outdated decor. Its serene location is popular among guests for the breathtaking sea views and closeness to the beach and village center. The spacious rooms with their stunning vistas are well-regarded, though clarity about room facilities has been noted as an area for improvement.
The hotel's amenities, such as the well-kept pool and diverse breakfast options, are frequently praised, as is the professional and attentive service provided by the staff. While the hotel's transparency regarding some facilities has been called into question, many guests feel the overall value is satisfactory, thanks to its appealing price-quality ratio and advantageous setting.

The strong points of this structure are certainly the location with a breathtaking view of the sea, facing the Isola Piana (reachable by sea only by residents) and the more famous Isola San Pietro (the main center of Carloforte, reachable every day with departures from PortoVesme , which is about 2/3 km from the center of Portoscuso); another "plus" is the swimming pool surrounded by greenery (always with sea view); the cleanliness and courtesy/availability of the staff. A very weak point (at least for us), the absence of the restaurant service (some people report closure since the Covid period). For the rest, average for the category (4 stars).

Friendly and helpful staff, which is not to be taken for granted. Very well maintained structure as well as the services offered. Spa to visit, especially if you are in the hotel for trekking or cycling (electric assisted ones highly recommended) The spa is brand new equipped with sauna, Turkish bath, knipe path, Jacuzzi etc. And a breathtaking view of the sea front. (it is located on the third floor) Nearby there is the sandy beach in the center closed by rocks on the sides with very clear water frequented by myriads of small fish. The rooms are well furnished, the breakfast is plentiful and can satisfy all palates, both national and foreign. The outdoor swimming pool is an oasis of relaxation. We hope to be able to return as soon as possible.

The hotel is in a great location. There is a huge pool which never seems to be busy, sun beds which look out across the sea towards the island of San Pietro and clean, comfortable rooms, many of which have great views of the coastline. The lovely beach (Spiaggia di Portopaglietto) is less than 5 minutes walk away and it is only a 25 minute walk to get into the town centre mostly along a coast path. Breakfast was good with plenty of different items available, although things did get a bit 'samey' after 10 days at the hotel. One improvement since our last visit is that guests can now ask for a teapot at breakfast as the cups are too small for a tea bag. The staff were very friendly and accommodating particularly those in reception. We did however have one issue, the hotel has centrally controlled air-conditioning and it seems that because we were there in the second half of September (15th-25th) the hotel seemed to think switching this off in the evening and at night was okay. We had to repeatedly ask for the air-conditioning in our room to be turned on, when we found the temperature in the early hours getting up to more than 28C. This made our stay more stressful than it should have been as we didn't like to keep asking, but we found it necessary as we would return to the hotel after dinner to find the room at 27C knowing it would then get hotter later. On our last couple of days the message seemed to get through and the aircon was left on, but it took a long while. The annoying part of this was that if it did get too cool it was possible to make the aircon cut off in the room, but it was not possible to make it come on when it was turned off centrally. This was a great shame as it somewhat spoiled what was otherwise a good stay.

This hotel looks more like a Hacienda from the 50s with few rooms, Sardo-Spanish decoration. Our junior suite had the same rustic decoration with curtains, nylon bedspread and wool blanket, (no duvet), large balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. Well maintained building as well as the garden and exteriors and the room breakfast. On the other hand, not a 4-star hotel when you wear holey sheets, you charge 5 euros for a pool/beach towel and the breakfast is essentially composed of industrial products, whether fruit juices or jams. , chemical scrambled eggs, gruyere in plastic and a dispenser like a coffee machine where you have to help yourself even though they have a bar!! In addition they advertise on their website a restaurant but it has closed and so you have to go to the village 20 minutes away on foot! We arrived on Sunday August 13 and when I asked for massages, I was told that it was not possible before Wednesday August 16!!! No doubt the masseuses were making the August 15 bridge!!! A height for a hotel! For 3 nights there was a very loud pipe noise in our room which woke us up at 4:30 a.m., 5 a.m. then 6 a.m.! We had to complain 3 times for him to resolve the problem! Otherwise the staff is very nice but I will not come back….

The room with sea view has a large balcony and offers a fantastic view of the sunset. Unfortunately the hairdryer is a "challenge" and since there is no socket in the bathroom, the hairdryer can only be used in the room (without a mirror). The pool is beautiful with good loungers and bar service. Unfortunately there is a mega generator facing the parking lot, which is annoyingly loud. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly. Parking is great!

Beautiful and well-kept structure, beautiful swimming pool and the surrounding area overlooking the sea with English grass and deckchairs. Kind and professional welcome. We had booked a sea view room and were offered room 109, a junior suite, large and comfortable with a beautiful terrace overlooking the pool and the sea. The room had only one mysterious flaw, from time to time we could hear a sinister noise, perceptible at night, initially we thought it was the air conditioner but it wasn't. Nothing serious, I forgot to mention it to the staff, to check if they were aware. The breakfast was good but could certainly be improved, I find it strange that in August in Sardinia the only fruit available were apples, kiwis and pears. Both melon and watermelon, for example, would certainly be appreciated Excellent parking, large and with eco-friendly shelters.

Excellent location with spectacular sea views during the day but especially at sunset. Impeccable cleaning throughout the structure both indoors and outdoors. Friendly and helpful staff in every situation. Rich and varied breakfast for all tastes. Relaxation and wellness guaranteed. Peace and quiet at night and during the day. A few minutes from the hotel there is a beautiful pine forest where you can enjoy a cool and aromatic climate. A few steps from the hotel you can go to the beach of Portopaglietto and enjoy the freshness of the sea water. For those who love taking long walks it is easy to reach the center of Portoscuso.

We go to this hotel almost every year, the location is perfect, 2 minutes walk from the sea and the swimming pool also has a sea view. The staff is very kind and nice. We had lunch every day in the hotel overlooking the pool, everything was good and very relaxing. The breakfast is very rich, both sweet and savory and offers various Sardinian products. There is a beautiful panoramic spa. I highly recommend it.

Positives: The location facing the sea, although there is no private beach. very clean facility. Large breakfast room and excellent and plentiful breakfast. There is a machine for hot drinks. The swimming pool is beautiful. Large private parking area, fenced with pergolas and therefore also covered (we had a motorbike). Friendly and helpful staff. Large room with balcony.
Negative sides: I didn't like the furniture in general but especially the bathroom!!! It's certainly not 4 stars!!! Unwatchable shower cubicle! 4 stars are synonymous with luxury and there is no luxury here. There is a nice structure but it is not 4 stars. It's a shame because it has very high potential!!!

The Lido delli Spagnoli is a small, fine hotel located on the outskirts of the city. The city center is within easy walking distance and, if you wish, can also be reached directly via the nearby beach and the adjacent promenade. The pool area is quiet and ideal for soaking up the sun, relaxing and cooling off for a short time. The breakfast is plentiful and offers something for everyone. The rooms were simple but functional and had everything you needed. The hotel staff was always friendly and accommodating, regardless of the area.
