We went on a Saturday lunchtime, a planned stop off during a walk. We had been thinking of trying the Cross Keys for a while, as we often walk in the area, and were not disappointed. The menu was varied and very reasonably priced. There is a nice restaurant area and a small bar. The food was freshly cooked and...

We have just returned from a wonderful two night stay at the crosskeys. We booked here as we were attending a wedding at the nearby Polawn Fort. It is ideal for this as the fort is only a 5 minute taxi ride from the Crosskeys. The local taxi cost just £8 each way. We were given a warm welcome on...

The title says it all - it wouldn't require much for me to give this a top rating but when you enter an empty pub & the landlord ignores you rather than saying 'hello', (I thought he was a client initially as he was stood in front of the bar), you get a feeling that this isn't one of the...

I stayed here in October and am only commenting on here because of the poor review I've just read!!! I came alone with my young 3 year old son and it was fantastic in every way, trustworthy, competent, helpful in every aspect to say the least!! Fantastic landlord and landlady couldn't help enough, beautiful atmosphere, great food and very friendly...

Walked from Mount Edgecombe and we were not planning on eating - just called into The CrossKeys for a quick drink. However we smelt the food and.asked for the menu. Ordered two fish burgers and one Omelette. Quick service and food presented well. Girl waitress/bar staff very efficient. Lots of chips with the burgers which was a good thing really...

We booked to stay in Cawsand as were attending a wedding at Polhawn fort! initially we thought we would stay the weekend but then quickly decided 6 months ago , to extend our stay to a week , as there was availability and it was a long journey to make for just a weeekend with the kids. We were so...

Our group organises a walk once a week, followed by lunch at a different local each time, so we have a pretty good idea what to expect. We lunched at the Cross Keys mid-week in October, so it wasn't busy. Different people ordered a good variety of main courses, and all were pronounced unusually good and reasonably priced. The service...

Thank you so much for your kind review. It is always nice to know that people have enjoyed dining with us. Just for future information in case you do find yourselves back around this way in the evening, we do have our evening specials board, but in addition, our standard menu is also available, so there is a good range...

I booked the Cross Keys self catering apartment for friends of mine for 25-28 October 2016 and paid £100 deposit by debit card. I then booked their train tickets from London based on this (they are visiting from the USA). Imagine my upset when I got a call out of the blue today and the manager informed me in a...

I do understand your annoyance at the error that was made with your booking. As I explained to you at length on the phone, this was purely down to an administrative error, made by myself where I failed to transfer details from an updated booking form (extending a stay from 3 nights to 7) onto our booking diary in the...
