Friendly staff, great beer and underpriced accommodation. Room was more like an apartment attached to the pub with it's own entrance. The staff were friendly and the beer great - (some brewed on the premises I think ). The Hoel is centrally located and great to walk around the upper town and see the sights!

We love this place. The location is second to none, the price is great value for money, the beer and food is lovely, you couldn't ask for more !! Ideally situated in the best part of the beautiful market town of Bridgnorth, this place is an absolute gem. The scotch eggs are the mutts nuts and the pies are just...

The beer and venue is great. Always have a great selection of ales. The food though is hit and miss depending who does it. Shame really as when the guy does it never had a problem but the others not great

A Tuesday lunchtime in October is hardly the best time of the year to visit any pub so I apologise in advance to anyone I upset by not rating the 'White Lion' as excellent. Nevertheless, on our Tuesday lunchtime visit, the menu was very limited. The barmaid admitted that the "Cream of Chicken soup was warmed up from a can"...

Went to the white lion a couple of times over the weekend, really nice for a relaxed light lunch. Pies and scotch eggs both excellent, great choice of wine and gin. Just as a pub should be with papers available to read and friendly locals.

Very cosy, comfortable and quirky. Welcoming and warm. Excellent range of local ales (including their own Hop & Stagger Brewery), lager and spirits. Homemade scotch eggs and local pies. Real scratchings. Roaring log fire. Beer garden. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.....they know and love their beer. Feel very lucky to have this pub on our doorstep.

What a truly refreshing visit to a traditional pub, where the staff know all about the beer they are selling and can make recommendations based on individual tastes. No gimmicks, just good beer and good company. Thoroughly recommend.

Located just off the high street and very dog friendly. The beer garden is a sun trap with plenty of seating. My drink was perfectly ice cold and my ham salad cob was very tasty. Staff were very friendly and made food fresh to order.

having our dog with us we needed a pub that served food and had a beer garden. The garden was full of very pretty flowers in tubs, pots and planters. There was lots of umbrellas and all the tables were clean. The food was well cooked and the portions were huge. Real value for money. Worth a try.
