We're biased about Greg and Nicola's place. Allow me to explain why. When travelling around the area of Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo we thought this region was so gorgeous that we just felt compelled to stay. Travelling with our 2,5 year old we decided to try something different. We wanted a place that offered dinner as well as breakfast....

Me and my family stayed in this property in Nov 2010. The owners of this place are working at elseway, they are not running the farm. When we reached the house, there were nobody there and we waited outside the gate for several hours. We called the owner but nobody picked up the calls. Much later only we found out...

We spent two nights at Merino Country Farmstay, Lake Tekapo. We stayed in the original farmhouse on the 24,000 acre farm just outside the township at Lake Tekapo. Our room was comfortable, clean and pleasantly furnished. The real gems here however were the host family Nicol and Greg and their extended family. They are great fun to be with, but...
