We stayed in the Macauley (unit 2) (RHS front unit). We found the inside comfortable if not a little dated, which we knew it would be by the website photos. Surprised to see a washing machine. Our unit could sleep 4 people all in single beds, Unit 1 has a double. The views across the lake were amazing from the...

The motel is in a great spot and the inn keeper is wonderful!! The owner does need to upgrade the furnishings as they appear to be outdated! The motel does have a full kitchen and the area is beautiful. It is with in a few minutes walking distance to the church and the dog statue.

Very tired in need of a major upgrade in today's standards. But at the price they charge and the location, you won't find anything better. Old 70's style motel with basic tea/ coffee making facilities and a microwave. Not setup for cooking in the unit we stayed in. Small hot water tank so 5min is all you get unless you...

Stayed in the family unit with lake view at $155 per night for two nights. As other people had already described the motel's facilities and views, so I talk about the host. He works for the owner and isn't a kiwi but well traveled in southland, he is very friendly and approachable, he is more than happy to share his...

We stayed at the Lakefront Cottage and the views were unbeatable! The unit was spacious for my party of 4 and comes equipped with a full kitchen, laundry machine, and a huge dining table! The furnishings in the unit were very out of date but it was a comfortable stay so no complaints. One of the bedroom even opens up...

I had read the reviews and knew exactly what to expect so there were no surprises. Yes the motel is a little tired and in need of refurbishment, but the location is fantastic, with great views and the price is right. The room we had was big and clean enough. Nice to be able to just walk to the Tekapo...

This place looks old from the outside but you will find the room large and clean. It had a small kitchen with everything you would need for cooking, large bed, T.V, heating, the bath room was small but clean. Could sit out on the deck with lovely views of Lake Tekapo and mountains. Is walking distance to the Church Of...

Arrived in Tekapo without any reservation and was referred to the Parkhead Motel as the only available accommodation. Luckily got the only remaining room a 2 bedroom self contained unit. 2 bedrooms, kitchen and lounge room. Probably the best location in Tekapo. This is an older style motel however I was the luckiest person around, the front deck of the...

Stay in Parkhead for a night to join the Earth and Sky stargazing tour at Mt John observatory. This area is designated as Dark Sky Reserve, good for star gazing. Efforts were made to preserve the dark skies in Lake Tekapo area. The location of the motel is fabulous being right in front of the lake but away from the...

This motel is located right in front of the lake and a short walking distance to the town. Rooms were large with decks that faced the lake. Has all you would need in a room. Clean and large. Walls are a little thin as we could hear our neighbors talking and flushing their toilets. However, not major issue that would...
