We stayed there recently for a few nights when visiting Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook. The views are stunning and the location is absolutley perfect for eveything in the town. It has quite a different decor - a bit of a blast from the past of the 70s! but clean, comfortable and very quiet. We didnt eat breakfast here we...

Most tourist will only stay at Lake Tekapo for 1 night for the stargazing or as a stopover. This hotel is in the most centralized location. The church within 5 min of walking. Earth & Sky pickup point right next to it. A few restaurants a stone-throw away. But, it is a small town so things are fairly basic.

Not a horrendous stay however don't expect a warm welcome or friendly conversation from the staff. Entire town closes before 9pm even on weekends so buy what you need before then. Keep to yourself and you will be ok. Overall town attitude was quite cold however the scenery was beautiful. Focus on that.

Only stopped for two coffees . Served with instant coffee. NZ generally takes coffee seriously. My wife left hers, but I managed to finish my 'flat white'. When I paid, I asked why they charged the same for instant as for 'proper' coffee. Was told by the boss lady that the front machine was turned off, but we had been...

An older building which is well maintained and beautifully presented. Lovely towels and plenty of toiletries. The rooms are spacious and there is plenty of free parking. A true shorefront property where you walk out of your unit onto the lakeside with open air tables to enjoy your brekky.

Booked at last minute when taking the kids away for a night. I should have listened to the howls of disgust from my son '(14 ) who proceeded to tell me that his mother had looked at and walked out after a quick look a while ago. Booked a budget room,, 185 for a living area and a bed room...

Its a bit pricey for what you get, but we stayed only one night and did not mind it at the end. Room was decent sized,no cooking facilities, just a kettle. The only sink was in the bathroom which was not very nice when you needed to wash cups, spoons etc. The bathroom has been recently done and is very nice...

A well positioned hotel to glean maximum views and a wonderful outlook from our ranch sliders. Having never been to Lake Tekapo before, I was so excited to be able to have a room with such a stunning vista. You just can't get better than that. The unit was clean and comfortable and the bed was nicely soft for me....

Location is fantastic! And that's all the positive I can say about it. Rooms are dated. Threadbare carpet, torn and worn bed covers, dingy used bathroom. A coat of white pain would do so much to breathe fresh life into this hotel. Way too expensive for what you get from a hotel. It's definitely managing to succeed solely on it's...

The location is fantastic, and the rooms were clean however, the outside looks like it hasn't been painted for 40 years, the outdoor furniture is ready for the tip and there is no air-conditioning in the rooms. It was over 30 degrees last night, when I did manage to sleep, I dreamt of Paul Newman in the sweat box in...
