The view at Cliffs Edge is terrific. Our room in the Seaside Lodge was large and nicely designed, with a full kitchen that was better appointed than we expected. But the owners are trying to run the place with almost no staff on site, which makes for mediocre service. The "front desk" seems to be staffed about fifteen minutes a day. There's a sign that says "Text this number and a team member will be with you right away." We tried that once and someone showed up two hours later. They encourage you to communicate with them through the online "guest portal," which obviously lacks a human touch.

The staff are the most hospitable, accommodating staff of any place I’ve ever stayed. The entire resort has been beautifully renovated with spotless modern rooms and cottages. The ocean view is spectacular!! The cafe offers very reasonably priced breakfast and bar choices. My only complaint is there is no discount for stays of a week or longer.

Room Tip: Worth the drive to this resort just an hour south of St John’s. This is whale watching territory.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Puffin's Burrow suite. It exceeded our expectations. It was exceptionally clean, pleasingly decorated with a comfortable bed, and well-positioned chairs in which to relax and take in the breath-taking view of the island. It also had a private sauna, a spacious shower, and a well-supplied kitchenette. It was difficult to leave after our four nights there. We definitely plan to return.

Cliffs Edge was a cute place to see the ocean, and an ideal spot for just taking in the scenery.
However, there portal is not great due to lack of cell service, I do understand there is a number to text if there was an emergency or an issue with getting in, but it was a question about the housekeeping, and nobody gotten back to me. and when leaving to talk to someone that portal closed and there was no way to retrieve the information.
I feel like overall it was a cute experience. but I wouldn't go back, personally it was too overpriced for what was offered.

Outstanding room with great views. While we didn’t use the hot tub nor sauna attached to our very nice cabin (cliff hanger), it was wonderful to have the amenities available. Very clean. Fully stocked kitchen in cabin Nice to have a Google Nest speaker AMAZINGLY NICE staff. Can’t wait to return for a longer stay.

This place is amazing! Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. The views and the inside of our suite were spectacular. The cafe was delicious and everyone was so friendly. It was a fantastic experience. Between the bed, the shower, the fireplace, hot tub, bath robes, espresso machine, and the gorgeous views it was an unbeatable experience.

My wife and I had stayed here prior to this new owner and so we were looking forward to a return. We had heard that the resort had been given a fresh look but we did not expect this. We [party of 6] stayed in the two cottages perched right up on top of the cliff and while the cottages themselves were lovely, the ocean views from this elevation, this vantage point where in a word "spectacular"....almost panoramic. For two days we were treated to an endless dance of puffins, eagles & sea gulls playing over the wonder and vastness of the Atlantic. As a bonus, one night we experienced a lightening storm the likes we have never seen. Yes....you can get a lovely chalet anywhere finished with pretty things. But you have to come to this place to experience this. Until you do, you're truly missing out. Discover Cliffs Edge Retreat

I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The place is amazing. Stayed in the Puffin’s Burrow and loved it. The place is decorated perfectly. The bed comfy, views amazing, hot tub excellent. I can’t say enough about this place. I wish we could have stayed longer. If you have the chance, give this place a shot.

I've never stayed at a more peaceful place. It was so quiet and peaceful that I thought I lost my hearing. I've been living in a busy city all my life, so this place was a dream. The ocean views, whether it was a sunny, rainy, foggy or misty day were stunning! Watching the sun rise and set here was the best experience. There was so much thought in decorating these cottages, from the fresh peppermint hand soap, the outlets everywhere, the towel just for make up and right down to the reading material. I will be back! I have not stopped talking about it.

This is a quality, luxurious place, with an absolutely stunning view. The facilities include — at least, for our room — a hot tub on the deck overlooking an island-studded cove. There were whales every day. The fog came in and misted over the islands, and then the sun came out. There was always something new to see, and it was always gorgeous. It was all utterly breathtaking.
Lots of little amenities, as well. And the owners are super helpful and friendly.
It’s in one of the quaint little villages that dot this part of the Irish loop. There are fine restaurants, as well as great fish & chip places nearby, and even a cocktail lounge.
